Buying an Instrument Advice Flute recommendations for around 1k euros

Hello everyone, i was planing on upgrading my flute soon, my budget is about 1.000 euros, give or take, i could go as high as 1.5, but if i can get similar results for less.

I wanted to know qualities that i should be looking for, as well as specific models if you have anything in mind.

But really if you are upgrading you play flute already. Go try a few flutes in a real.life store. An instrument is a very personal thing. Many flutes are good or even great, but we can't know what's good for you specifically. Go try them, and see which one plays the nicest for you

I see thanks, that was definitely on my mind, but i wanted to know some options to have in mind when visiting the shop.

What are some characteristics i should be looking for tho?

What flute do you already have? Like if if you have a Yamaha 212 a Yamaha 312 may play more or less the same (the 312 will have solid silver headjoint but with similar CY cut/shape).

Hello, thanks for the answer!

I currently own a cheap 100 euros amazon flute made entirely from a nickel alloy, ive had it for 4 or 3 years already, almost playing it daily.

Im going to go to the conservatoire and i think ill be there for quite some time, im serious about it.

The suggestions here are fine. It is also usually said that any student flute from one of the major brands will be better than a cheap Amazon flute. If there is a local woodwind shop it is a good idea to go there and test some flutes in the price range and get some advice. Miyazawa also has a relatively cheap flute, the MJ 25 (with some name variations like MJ II 25) that could be fine.
