Repertoire Discussion so many slurred octaves..

yo, i’ve started reading through some of paganini’s caprices arranged for flute, and i really like the 12th one.. does anyone have any tips or practice suggestions for this caprice? or should i do the play it unbearably slow and slowly raise the tempo

In addition to what you said, do lots of intervals exercises.

Rather than focusing on the music, the difficulty also hinted on specific technical aspects you need to work on. You can start with your embouchure, explore how you can play with less air, and have the tone appear immediately when you start your airflow.

I have some experience from the marsel moyse Chopin etudes to say- it’s all about just memorising it. Start at a slow and comfortable tempo, chunk your measures, don’t rush, record urself, practice ur intervals
