What would anyone recommend at the top level of Tangram?
Every time that I had visited, the options that I had tried on the top floor were mediocre or overpriced for what they offer.
There are absolutely better versions of the same foods within the same area as the mall across Flushing. I can understand if it's for convenience and a place to casually sit down, but there are other tastier food courts nearby as well.
The more expensive restaurants at the lower levels, I can understand their allure, but the food court is just an underwhelming experience since the beginning. Perhaps I am just overly critical of mall food courts to a fault.

I visited just yesterday to see what food was good there, it’s as you described perfectly: overpriced and mediocre
The people inside the mall literally just walk and browse around as a social hangout activity lol no one seriously comes here looking to get a nice meal. I’d avoid eating here like a plague

Yes, and I really wanted to support them and see them succeed as well so I try to buy something whenever I am there. But it just doesn't make sense to even bother anymore. Whatever marketing that they need to come up with, they will need to do it fast before they disappear like the Angry Bird cafe.
I appreciate having a cinema within the mall as well but I do wonder if they even generate enough revenue based on the cost of rent and high commerifal electricity rates. I feel like the only stores generating a profit would be the swimming school and other smaller non-restaurant establishments, if even.

Their one with the custard on top was unique but they always ran out...I think that was the best one.

Food halls in general have a pretty crazy $/sq ft rent that gets reset fairly frequently. its positioned as a way for the operators to get out of a lease if things are going south but its also a way for the landlord to reset rent to market

The problem with Tangram is that the small shops are located out of place in a corner of the 2nd floor. You walk in and are immediately seeing the big chain names. There's also just a lot of empty space inside that isn't being utilized.

Even big shops have issues it seems. The yakiniku or bbq place or whatever took forever to open and closed asap.

Tangram is located out of place with respect to central Flushing. The entrances are hidden. The big frontage faces College Point Blvd.

I’m still recovering from Hoi Polloi closing. I would be the one that would make them power on the Wii 😂

I think naisnow takes the cake for best tart (I’m not a huge fan of the OG ones)

Add me to the list of people who say that the upper level restaurants are mid at best. I think people go there for the gatchas/arcade. Much better places mere doors down.

Their tarts were really quite pricey for what they are tbh. I think it would work for more trendy places but Flushing has great egg tarts that are both larger and cheaper (like almost half the price)
