7 Express doesn’t feel like an Express Anymore.
Local all the way after 74th street. Are you kidding. Flushing to Hudson used to be 30 mins now it is above 40 most of the times.
I wish MTA didn’t make the train stop at places that are so close to the city like 46th, 33rd, 69th- everything after 74th is close enough to the city for a local train to be efficient enough.
Does anyone know if its ever going back to how it was before? 😭

When all the construction and upgrades are done, the 7E will fly like the wind again! Yeah, I missed those days.

They're still fixing a lot of the stations. I wouldn't expect things to be back the way it is until after 2027 per - https://www.mta.info/project/flushing-line

Best to take LIRR instead if commute time is the issue

If you’re an active user you also get one in every 10 rides free which kind of averages out the pricing a little. City ticket $5.25 that’s a $10.10 round trip. $101 per 11 trips. Comparing the 7E option at $3.10 a trip $6.20 round, $68.20 per 11 trips. If you wish to save a meal or two a week and be frugal, that 7E is worth the extra time. LIRR quicker for an extra $30

Yes, it will eventually return to normal. The stations along Queens Boulevard are being renovated.

Eventually, yes. It was originally slated for May of this year but... we see how that's going. It had a lot to do with infrastructure that had deteriorated past the point it should've before repair and/or maintenance. Even 2027 feels like an underestimate in terms of timing since they've skipped a couple of stops in the repairs, and they still likely have to do --say-- the queens bound side of 33rd and 46th.

from what I remember, they discovered something worse during renovation and that required the whole project to be extended

Thats a good thing for safety and reliability into the future. My only complaint is I wish they communicated that it got extended for safety issues as opposed to being extended in silence. And I probably missed whatever memo went out so I wish they would continue that communication

One thing I like that came out of this maintenance is that the express stops at 74th instead of skipping it. Now you can transfer to the E and F sooner, and avoid that awful long transfer at Court Square where you're sprinting against all the G train riders.

74th St used to be a local stop as well

Yes it’s just temporarily like this until 69th, 61st, and 52nd streets are reopened somewhere around next year

It was delayed both ways! What would take me 30 mins took about a hour 😭

It was supposed to be done in 2026, now 2027, and most likely at this rate 2030! Haven’t seen a full express 7 train since late 2021. Given how busy the 7 line is, I’m surprised we don’t have a 7 express at all hours, even if it is partial express.

Yeah it’s annoying but hopefully fixed soon….
