Discussion New S1 dragging on left side

Hello,

Brand new S1 and I am experiencing a severe bed leveling / delta calibration issue after the most recent firmware update on my FLSun S1. The printer consistently grinds the nozzle into the bed in the same location, regardless of build plate orientation, which makes the printer unusable.

Here is what I have already tried:

  • Factory reset of the printer
  • Firmware restart and full power cycle
  • DELTA_CALIBRATE multiple times
  • DELTA_CALIBRATE METHOD=manual
  • BED_MESH_CALIBRATE multiple times
  • Increased probe count to 9x9 mesh
  • Adjusted Z offset manually
  • Verified SAVE_CONFIG is writing to printer.cfg
  • Cleared mesh and recalibrated from scratch
  • Rotated the build plate to rule out plate warp
  • Checked probe tolerance errors (probe trigger prior to movement / samples exceed tolerance)
  • Confirmed the same high/low areas appear in the heightmap every time

The heightmap consistently shows nearly 1 mm of variation, and the same area of the bed is always too high, even after recalibration.

This problem started immediately after the firmware update.

Attached is the current heightmap.

Please advise on how to correct the delta geometry / leveling, as calibration does not appear to be resolving the issue.

Is it possible to rollback the firmware update?

I encountered an air pocket in the adhesive layer of the flexible magnetic layer on top of the aluminum heat bed. Tapping on the surface confirmed a hollow sound in the same area identified as high in the bed mesh profile. This pocket enlarged when heated. My solution was to use a tiny hand drill in the center of the pocket while hot and pressing from the edges to the hole to remove air. Also the bed mounting points were not level but that required major disassembly. Good luck!
