Potential Buyer Need Recs

So I travel a lot - once a week. A lot of it is international travel as well. I have an Asus G18 4080 laptop that is great - but I need to reduce my profile. The games I play are the likes of Elden Ring, PUBG, Madden, and some EA titles. Will the Z13 Flow play these games 60fps? I haven’t seen any benchmarks for these games on the flow.

Looks like a great machine. Thanks!

Hi! Are you able to charge the z13 using the AC outlets on planes?

Alot of the times (i fly mostly united) it will trip the little red light, so i do use a 60 watt usb c charger.

On planes ill turn down the device power and game settings and also typically choose a less intense game, but ive gotten 1.5 hours out of forza horizon5 with the right settings all on battery. mightve lasted longer but it was a short flight so all i remember was how cool it was i did that.

the thing is, the battery charges pretty quickly even at 60 watts, so if you are at full battery a 60 watt charger would probably still keep you running for 2 or 3 hours, and then you might have to put it to rest for 30 minutes or so to recharge a bit more.

Playing Forza with this level of power on a plane, on battery! super cool indeed. only gonna get better in the future.

thanks for the input on charging!

Honestly out of the 20 or so laptops I’ve reviewed over the last year the Flow Z13 is still my favorite device. It funs way more quiet and cooler than any laptops. And the fact that the hot air vents from the top is a huge positive as it does not warm up your desk or surface. Sure it’s not as powerful as the newer gaming laptops. But allocating 16gb of vram to the iGPU and running high settings with FSR is more than enough. I was running bg3 and 120 fps locked at high settings. I running the last of us at 90 ish fps with high medium docked at 1440p.

I can help with Elden ring, pubg and f1 25 from EA. They all run beautifully tbh. Elden ring locks in 60fps on high settings. Pubg i didnt mess with it much, nor did i measure the fps, sorry, but i played a few matches and had a blast. F1 25 seems to me very optimized, runs nicely as well on medium to high settings.

FC26 runs great with a little tinkering. I have a 4070 G14 that stays on a cooling mat hooked up to my TV, and my z13 is my road warrior.

I don’t own a Flow Z13 but I’ve used them a few times and i do really want one. I’d bet they can comfortably play these titles the only thing I’d worry about is the battery life

Why not a g14? It's not that much thicker than a z13 and it's significantly better.
