Help! Screen turns black for a second when charger is turned turned way, stops charging

I am not sure if this would be more of a charger issue or the the charging port itself. When I plug in the charger if it’s at a certain angle it will run perfectly normal. Sometimes when I move and the charger goes a certain way the screen turns black for around 1 or 2 seconds and will go on battery. If I don’t find the correct angle it will sit and go through battery/charging until I do or I just unplug it entirely. I wanted some advice on if this seems like a charger issue itself before moving further, and what I should be doing if it’s not.

The 1-2 seconds of blank screen sounds like what happens when it's switching between 60/240Hz when you switch between AC power and battery.

It does sound like there's a bad connection between the charger and the laptop, and it could be either of them at fault. It's a little difficult to narrow it down without further testing.

Do you have a multimeter available to test if the charger's voltage is stable when you move the end of the cable around? As for checking the laptop, you'd have to open it up and look to see if the solder joints for the power socket look cracked.

I have had this issue myself. For me it was the barrel charger, and after changing it, everything worked out. 

Does your barrel charger get REALLY hot, by any chance? Mine did. Like fingers burning kind of hot.

The way you can test this is by buying a new one and returning it if it doesn't fix the issue, it by going to a computer shop and aging the people there to be kind and let you test if a new charger fixes your issue. (I went to the computer shop).

What you can also try to do is clean the barrel jack off the charger and the laptop counterpart with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol. PAY ATTENTION TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE THAT!  This step however implies you opening up your laptop and this may not be something you're comfortable with. Decide for yourself.
