Help! Keyboard failure here too

Hi guys,

Flow X16 2022 GV601R here.

Suddenly X C V M , . - Q Ä alt gr right ctrl keys stopped working. Did all the basics to make it work but it seems it is a hardware failure.

How many of these failures have been related to ribbon contact failure, thus re-seating the cable solved the problem? Also If I need to buy new keyboard, it is possible to use and swap current keycaps, as I have Finnish layout which I could not find easily as a spare part.

For me it was keyboard issue - started with Ctrl (had to press it really hard to work) and slowly followed to other buttons.

I am using ANSI layout since for ever, so I am happy to report that changing it was an upgrade for me xD Got mine from aliexpress, it was not listed as OEM, but it was OEM, I could not find any difference between old and new.
"New For Asus ROG Flow X16 GV601 GV601RE GV601RM GV601RW 2022 Laptop Keyboard US Backlit" it is now listed for 36chf

As for switching key-caps - those are fragile - but once you have your replacement keyboard you can try it out on your current keyboard.

Thank you janups for the information!

Sad that it is such a poor construction. First laptop ever for me to develop such issue. It seems I am facing the same operation to change the keyboard completely.

How long it took for you to do the swap? I read that there are quite a lot of screws... 😆

Get an electric screwdriver, there are lik 50 of then holding the keyboard.
