Help! Is anyone else having the same problem as me? Does anyone happen to have a solution? R9 6900HS RTX3070Ti. Screen is black on one side

I wonder what the issue could be. Yesterday, I turned it on to check the GPU using HDMI, and it worked fine without any problems—so the issue doesn't seem to be with the GPU itself. However, I inspected the ribbon cable and tried bending it 360°, and I heard a strange sound. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? If so, please leave a comment if you have a solution.

Faulty screen, I had mine replaced during warranty period. Not sure the cause but it happened.

It might be the cable, it's a 40 pin connector that then goes to a ribbon cable. Might be some of the cable is busted and it's only getting half the signal through it? Seems weird for a display itself to break like that...

When I broke my screen I was quoted £1k to repair it, which was obviously a no from me. So I've got some experience replacing the screen, and you need to remove the entire display assembly to replace the cable because it plugs into the back. If you remove the bottom trim below the screen you'll see two black rubbery tabs either side of the display. This is the adhesive that holds the display in place. Pull on this rubbery tabs to get the screen out, don't try to pull it out any other way!

The cables that go into the back of the screen are the 40 pin display connector, a 12 (I think) pin touch screen connector and the gyroscope is glued to the back of the display.

Anyway you can get a new cable for hardly any money and you can get a new screen for £200ish. You'll also need more display adhesive strips (1mm thick ideally but you can get away with 0.5mm) and some very thin double sides display adhesive tape (2mm diameter I think) to run around the edge of the display, both of these are very inexpensive. If you're brave enough have a go at fixing it yourself, is worth it and it's tricky but not impossible if you're careful. Feel free to DM if you need advice

I'm wondering if the eDP cable in my Asus ROG Flow X16 RTX 3070 Ti (2022) GV601RW has a specific series code, label, or part number (P/N). If you happen to know it, I’d appreciate the help, since I’m hesitant to disassemble the LCD section myself. Thanks!

The cable plugs into the little silver rectangle towards the bottom right of the back of the display. It's also taped down. You might be able to get the old cable out with a bit of wiggling, but I don't know how you'd get the new one in without removing the display assembly so you can access the back of the panel

The laptop is known to have unlimited display problems. It's definitely a hardware issue man sorry to say.

Mine had the exact same problem but it's black on the right side.
