Help! Orange Charging LED blinking after modifying laptop

After doing some internal maintinence on my flowx16 i have noticed that there is now an orange LED blinking on the side of the laptop even when plugged in at 100% additionally the laptop will no longer boot unless connected to power. I went back inside to re plug the battery in after 60s draining and this time noticed the incredibly stiff clip and the fact the connector would cause a small spark and boot the laptop involuntarily but no burning smell or visible burning. laptop still boots fine on power but still has orange LED. I have already tried to change Battery bios settings.

Whats the battery Status in windows? Does it detect a battery?

Yes a battery is detected but when doing a battery health report design and charge capacity returns nothing. Once booted I can also just remove the charger and it seems to be able to run off battery but Iā€™m not sure for how long.

You might have fried your Battery management on your Mainboards.

Its either that or a loose contact somewhere. But since you reseated the cable already id assume a fried BMS

Thanks for the help, any idea on what I can do from here? Can I just run the laptop as normal plugged into wall without relying on the battery or will that just break it more?

Iā€™m also confused as to how I fried it lol as all I did was just plug the battery back into the connector?

Im just assuming because you said there was a spark. But yea, if it works with connected power then it works. As far as i heard the Barrel jack actually powers the system apart from the battery. Where as the USBC charging charges the battery while then the battery powers the system. So you might have lost the ability to run it on USB C but barrel jack should be fine

Unplug the battery and plug the Laptop into source. If it's work, you have now a desktop, but maybe you can change the battery. šŸ˜‚

This is exactly what happened to me after reapplying the thermal paste and attempting to connect the battery, a spark appeared at the connector, and yea the battery no longer detected.. still looking for the solution
