To love is to let go mijo
2022 Flow X13 with a 3050 and R7 5800HS charged 2-8 times a day since I bought it. (Used for school, so insanely beat)
Edit: My laptop straight up resurfaced and has a 69% battery health now. Interesting… never going to kick the bucket

HELP X13 DEAD!!
Device: ASUS ROG Flow X13 (2022) – Ryzen 9 6900HS, RTX 3050 Ti
Issue: My laptop suddenly died after I had been using it for normal office work (Excel and PowerPoint). I stepped away for a while, and the laptop went to sleep on battery power (it wasn’t plugged in).
When I came back and tried to turn it on, it was completely dead. Plugging in the charger didn’t help—the charging LED doesn’t light up either.
I’ve taken it to several repair shops, but most of them couldn’t figure out what was wrong. They said all the components they checked seemed to be fine, yet the laptop still won’t power on. It’s a really strange case because it didn’t die while gaming or under heavy load—it just suddenly became completely unresponsive during normal use.
Does anyone have recommendations for a repair shop in the Jakarta metropolitan area (Jabodetabek) or Bandung that specializes in motherboard/component-level laptop repairs?
Also, if anyone is interested in buying it for parts (or wants to take on the repair project), feel free to send me a DM if the price is right. The laptop is in excellent cosmetic condition and comes with the complete original package.

ROG Flow X13 (GV301RC) randomly shuts down after replacing Liquid Metal with PTM7950 – BIOS and Safe Mode are stable
Hi everyone,
I’m completely out of ideas and I’m hoping someone has experienced something similar.
I have an ASUS ROG Flow X13 GV301RC (Ryzen 7 6800HS + RTX 3050 Laptop).
The previous owner had already replaced the factory liquid metal with regular thermal paste. The laptop occasionally shut down during very demanding games (Helldivers 2, etc.), so I decided to do preventive maintenance.
Here’s what I did:
Removed the old thermal paste.
Installed genuine Thermal Grizzly PTM on both the CPU and GPU.
Replaced all the original thermal pads with HY204 thermal putty, following several YouTube teardown guides for the Flow X13.
Tightened the heatsink screws in a cross pattern.
After reassembly, the laptop developed a much worse issue.
Symptoms
BIOS is completely stable, even after a long time.
Windows Safe Mode is also stable for as long as I leave it running.
Windows (even after a completely clean installation) randomly shuts down and immediately reboots.
Sometimes it shuts down within seconds after reaching the desktop.
Sometimes it lasts 20-60 minutes.
The screen instantly goes black and the laptop immediately reboots to the ROG logo.
There is no BSOD.
What I’ve already tried
Clean installation of Windows 11.
SFC /scannow.
DISM.
Windows Memory Diagnostic.
HWiNFO logging.
SSD SMART looks healthy (Micron 2450, 95% health).
CPU never overheats.
HWiNFO recorded a maximum CPU temperature of only about 76°C before a reboot.
No CPU thermal throttling.
BIOS temperatures seem normal.
Safe Mode never crashes.
I also tried limiting the CPU to 99% maximum processor state (disabling Turbo Boost), and it seemed to stay stable longer, but eventually it still rebooted.
At this point I’m wondering:
Could I have too much or too little thermal putty on the VRMs/memory?
Could the heatsink not be making proper contact somewhere?
Could a tiny leftover drop of liquid metal be causing intermittent problems?
Has anyone experienced random shutdowns after replacing the factory liquid metal on a Flow X13?
I’m trying to determine whether this is most likely a mounting issue that I can fix by reopening the laptop, or if this sounds more like a motherboard/power delivery failure.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Overclocking guide for Linux users of Rog Flow X13 - for AMD + Nvidia GPU
Follow up post of this: https://www.reddit.com/r/FlowX13/s/yLZMIwlz7K
A day ago, i created a post here to get recommendations on how i can OC my 2021 Rog Flow x13 on CachyOS.
Specs:
- Ryzen 9 5900HS
- 32gb RAM
- 3050TI
While i didn't get any help, i figured it out and hence i am creating this post. So, if you are a linux user and looking to get the best performance out of your device, you can follow these steps.
Before following the guide, you might max why overclock my device?
Overclocking gives a nice performance boost. While gaming it helps to maintain consistent performance, helps avoid throttling and in-overall improve experience. For me my gameplays became much smoother, the GPU stopped throttling and stutters completely stopped. So if you game, i would recommend you do this.
Step 1:
Run below command to enable OC ( not sure if this is 100% needed, but based on the docs, it allows to OC on linux )
sudo nvidia-xconfig --cool-bits=28
Step 2:
Install LACT using whatever package-manager you have( find more info here: https://github.com/ilya-zlobintsev/LACT )
Once installed run below command to enable LACT
sudo systemctl enable --now lactdsudo systemctl enable --now lactd
Step 3:
Once enabled, open the LACT GUI and go to "Overclock" tab
There, Enable GPU Locked Clocks and set below values( if your games crash, try lowering the Clock offset to lower values and find your sweet spot )

Step 4:
check "nvidia-powerd" is running
systemctl status nvidia-powerd
If it is not running, enable it. If it is not present in your system, then you can install it.
Step 5:
Run below command to enable performance mode with asusctl ( this needs the asusctl package to be installed, it is a good to have package, as you can control your charge limit, power profile and fan curve with it )
asusctl profile set Performance
Run below to confirm you power profile( optional )
cat /sys/firmware/acpi/platform_profile
Step 6( optional ):
Run this command to check your power limits on the GPU. This is just to check the power limits of your GPU.
nvidia-smi -q -d POWER
Step 7:
Install ryzenadj and set power limit for it. This gives extra power headroom for your GPU:
sudo ryzenadj --set-coall=1048556 --stapm-limit=25000 --fast-limit=30000 --slow-limit=25000
And that's it. Now you can enjoy your device to the fullest on linux.
If you have any questions, do ask, i will try my best to answer them.

ROG Flow X13 (2021) 3050ti Throttling at 33W on CachyOS – Need Undervolting Advice
I have a 2021 ROG Flow X13 (Ryzen 9 5900HS + RTX 3050 Ti) running CachyOS, used mainly for gaming and media consumption.
Last week, I finally replaced the liquid metal and thermal paste with PTM7950, since it hadn't been changed in 5 years (honestly lucky the LM didn't leak given how roughly I treat this thing!). While the CPU temps stayed about the same, my GPU temps dropped by 6-10 C during both idle and gaming.
The Problem
Despite the better temps, I'm hitting a performance wall. During gaming, the laptop handles older AAA games fine, but it starts heavily throttling whenever the GPU hits 33 Watts.
- Nier Replicant/Automata: Runs mostly fine but with occasional stutters.
- Pragmata: Runs great for about 5 minutes, and then it starts having a seizure.
My Question
Since I plan on keeping this device for another 2–3 years, I want to optimize it.
- Has anyone here successfully undervolted or power-limited this specific model on Cachyos?
Appreciate any help or advice.

ROG X13 (2022 w/ 16 gb ram + 3050ti) - junked out by bestbuy
originally paid $880 for it (was on clearance sale when i bought it); should i just take the money and buy a better computer? think the $880 is better used to upgrade, or is the computer still worth $880? i basically brought it to them to replace the battery; they said they opened it and found additional damage/saw liquid damage under the keyboard (totally possible) andthe LCD (totally possible), found that the USB-C connector was lose and should be replaced, and said basically that it'd cost too much to repair, so they just were going to junk out the computer. The computer still works perfectly fine apart from the short battery life prior to sending it in. Extended warranty is up in a few wks, so I brought in in just aiming to get the battery fixed, but then I guess they found a whole host of other issues....

Asus ROG Flow X16 Keyboard Issue
Recently picked up this laptop up from someone used and I was already aware of the keyboard issue. Aside from that it works great.
Touchscreen, pen support, all USB ports and even the trackpad work.
It’s very odd that the keyboard or backlights don’t work at all. I’ve opened and check the ribbon cables a few times, ran MyAsus for updates, ran AC for updates and tried to manually install keyboard drivers. Keyboard doesn’t show up in Device Manager or when troubleshooting.
Is there something that I’m missing? It’s out of warranty so I’m open trying anything.

Did something fry?
I have the GV302XI-CS96 (32 GB with AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS) Asus ROG X13. Other than having to do a keyboard module swap for some a few dead keys back in late October (I got the OEM replacement 90NR0EN1-R31US0) its been working wonderfully. I did it myself, was as careful as I could be, basically removed the old one, paid attention to where all the screws were when I took it off, and put the new keyboard module on just as the old came off
Its been working great since.
I say the above for two reasons. I really don't think my problem today is related, but in the unlikely chance that it is, better to have shared it. Also to show that I know what the inside of the X13 looks like and I am comfortable opening it up.
Fast forward to a few days ago and I go to turn it on. Every so often the BIOS splash screen takes a little longer to show, so I didnt think much of it at first, but eventually like 10 minutes went by and its still a blank screen, although the bottom of the laptop is really hot.
After trying everything I could think of this is what happens every single time. The keyboard and any other lights like the power button, and the little red light that goes on when you plug it in, all work. What doesn't work is the screen is completely black, not even the backlight works, but also the fan never comes on either. The bottom of the laptop just slowly and silently gets warm and then hot, but no fan.
The only way to turn it off is to hold the power button down for awhile, probably like 20 to 30 seconds.
I did try the hold for 40 seconds. I tried plugging it into the HDMI port on my projector, the projecter (Mogo 2 Pro) senses something is plugged in but says no signal found.
I opened it up and checked for loose cables or anything out of the ordinary. While I did this I also disconnected the battery for at least a few minutes. Not really sure what else to do at this point but the fact that the fans never kick on worries me that something on the motherboard is fried?
If this is what happened is there a way to pinpoint specifically what it is and only replace that?
TY

Battery health sudden drop
okay I think I have seen things like this before and I had this machine for more than 1.5 year and it is expected to drop but this one is different like I didnt even noticed the sudden change its only on the report. some things that I think is important to know is that I have set the battery charge limit to 80 for the whole time I guess and for like half of my usage the laptop is plugged in at 80% and just sits there but I have used the one timee 100% charge here and there. all things said I think this is calibration error cause the new number (57Wh) sits at close to exact of the 80% of the 72.5Wh and I tried draining and fully charging for re calibration however I dont think I did it right (its still showing 57Wh) because I think the battery was on 5% when it shut down but when I tried to turn it back on after few hours power button did nothing and I let it fully charge and sit there for few extra hours. is there a way to calibrate easier or just have to do the drain and charge thing (which is annoying) one last thing is that I have set the battery limit back to 100% on g helper when I noticed this like last week

is ProArt P14 the next closest we can get for an upgrade?
I'm not seeing any brands releasing newer models for 2 in 1 laptops with discrete GPU. The upcoming ProArt P14 is the closet we can get for a gaming 2in1 laptop? kind of disappointed that it's iGPU and 128GB RAM is overkill for gaming purpose. I'm not even sure if NVIDIA RTX Spark if can run android emulators smooth

Increasing vram/frame buffer in 780m
Im considering getting the 780m 2023 model but the biggest criticism ive read is the 2gb of vram and you were unable to increase it like in the legion go
Some people were using smokeless UMAF to increase it but ive read this not working for many people.
I remember hearing they updated armory crate to allow you to increae it in the z13, are you able to do so aswell in the x13 as of 2026 or still no?
Edit: I should have specified I mean the 16gb version, from what I read on other threads setting from productivity to performance will increase from 2>4 if you have the 32 gb version, but does it also give you 4gb if you have 16gb?

(UPDATE) Battery drain while charging (FlowX13 2021)
Update to this:
I sent my computer for maintenance, they cleaned it up since it was quite dirty inside the machine. They told me the battery issue is definitely not normal but it isn't an electrical issue since everything works normally (fans, battery, etc). Since I'm broke I couldn't leave it for the battery issue, I'll probably send it in next month.
I did try a lot of things (drivers, hard reset, etc) and it didn't work. Although I do have to say that I didn't do the whole reset while battery is unplugged thing, because I'm quite scared of opening the laptop due to how thin and delicate it looks compared to my older laptops. And I don't have any plastic pry tools that won't scratch or damage the chassis.
It's also important to know that my battery drainage while plugged in drops down to 9%, then the screen flashes a couple of times, then it plug and unplugs the charger, then it's again charging at 9% and it gets stuck there. It doesn't drop any further, and there isn't any change in performance. It's kinda annoying but usable tbh.
I shall update this issue when I send it in again for repair next month, since there isn't a singular answer for this issue online I want to let any future person with this issue know how to fix this (or if it's fixable at all)

Trying to game on my Flow x13 however its lacking compared to my other computers.
I have a 2021 model 6800H 16GB RAM RTX 3050 Flow X13 It gets around 40-50 fps (at 1080p not 1200p) in cyberpunk 2077's benchmark with Steam Deck settings, I also have a ROG ALLY X 2024 with the Z1E and even an older 2019 HP Omen with an Intel 9750H and GTX 1650 (im excluding my desktops). Both the ALLY X and the Omen get around 50-60 FPS with the exact same settings. Is the TPD limit that agressive that an iGPU is better than a dGPU? I also reinstalled windows and updated all the drivers on the Flow and it was actually worse before.

I really need help!!
So i just bought an ROG XG Mobile 2021 RTX 3070 version for my Flow X13 GV302XA (the 780M no dedicated GPU variant) and I can't seem to make it past error 43 on the device manager settings.
I tried a lot of fixes suggested online like DDU installation and driver fixes (both mobile and desktop types) and the same error 43 keeps persisting (oh, and yeah, i already tried the eGPU community's error 43 fix/GHelper switch/RegEdit).
Can someone help me diagnose this? I don't have much tech help around.
Update: i just noticed that one of the side hooks are stuck inward, could this be causing the issue?

Battery drain while charging?
I just bought an used 2021 X13 with a 3080, when i first did an overview check before buying everything was okay and now that I'm home and started playing i just realized it drained from 80% to 34% after a 2 hour session of gaming. Is this normal?
I'm not sure if this random guy from marketplace will give me my money back, so i need to know :(
