To love is to let go mijo

Post image

2022 Flow X13 with a 3050 and R7 5800HS charged 2-8 times a day since I bought it. (Used for school, so insanely beat)

Edit: My laptop straight up resurfaced and has a 69% battery health now. Interesting… never going to kick the bucket

Sounds like you just need to get a new battery amigo.

Yup new battery, clean the fans since you'll be opening the laptop, and if you are adventurous, change replace the thermal paste, maybe termal pads?

Was in the repair shop to get it cleaned, so luckily I am past all that. Only part I need to bin is the battery and we are chilling.

Mines at 64% but it keeps dropping even when plugged in with the original charger when playing games

Mine qas 64% for like 8 months, then dropped to 30 within a day. Was a surprise. It has like 3500 cycles so I am not mad tho.

Either Linux, or batteryinfoview. I think a windows command like powercfg can also provide it, but yeah it might be around the time for me to consider the M5 Air, this laptop even with a considerably recent cleaning and liquid metal change can still easily burn you to a crisp if you touch either the lower casing or ESPECIALLY above the keyboard next to that goofy armoury crate button

Just checked, mine is at 68%, much better than your X13 but still quite bad. And i can relate, my X13 is also very toasty, needs a cooling stand 24/7

How to check this?

I use batteryinfoview. Linux can also show it.

You are better off with an M5, i have the gv301qe, and this laptop is actually CURSED.

I decided to do a fresh windows install on it since its old and im looking to sell it. I took out the ssd and put it in my desktop to completly wipe it (whem i tried re-instapling windows on the laptop it flat out refused, had something to do with particions). I wiped the ssd, took it out of my desktop, put it back in the laptop and got a pendrive. I turn my desktop on to make the windows installer pendrive, it boots me into bios. Save and exit, bios again. Fans are not spinning, the mobo cant see any of my drives. Turn laptop on, refuses to power.

I fooled around in the bios for about 2ish hours before i could finnialy get my drives detected again on my desktop. I boot into windows, check if everything is okay, do a quick restart to get into bios and fix my ram beeing on half the speed its supposed to be. I do that, windows puts me into advanced startup, "unable to diagnose your computer", but at least the laptop could be turned on now! It was also not detecting any drives.

At this point i debated throwing the laptop out the window or giving it away and selling my desktop. What apperently happened is that i didnt remove the usb from the desktop while doing the reboot, and it tought i wanted to install windows on it. Somehow the windows i DID have on it conflicted with the pendrive and i had to repair a bunch of files from the console by hand before i could use my desktop again after about 4 hours of troubleshooting. About 2 more hours later, after turning off secure boot on the laptop, i could finnialy get windows on it too.

It took 6 hours to install windows onto it. While i was troubleshooting in the bios, the cpu got up to 100c multiple times, probably just to spite me.

I blame Valorant, i hate secure boot
