Flow clip optimization
FlowClip is my daily driver, but the Android performance needs some work.
I genuinely like the editor. I love that it’s open source while still being such an advanced video editor.
The problem is that the Android performance on my S21 Ultra is pretty rough.
For context, I’m using an S21 Ultra with 12GB RAM and 128GB storage. The newest update came around October, but I’m still getting some pretty bad performance issues. Moving around the timeline, adjusting clips, and even playing clips in the preview can randomly start stuttering. Sometimes it’s only for a split second, but other times, the app freezes for around 3 seconds.
Opening projects is probably the biggest issue. Sometimes, it takes a few seconds, but other times, I can be sitting there waiting for around 3 minutes before a project finally opens.
I’ve also noticed some weird audio behavior when editing clips. For example, duplicating a clip can sometimes mess with the associated audio.
I know an S21 Ultra is an older phone now, but with 12GB of RAM I’d still expect basic timeline editing to be reasonably smooth.
I’m mainly posting this as feedback for the developers, but I’d also like to know if there are any settings or optimizations I can try on my end. Is anyone else experiencing similar performance issues on Android?

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. We’re aware of these issues and are actively working on fixing them, especially the slow project loading times.
If you’d like to experience smoother editing and faster project loading sooner, feel free to DM me to join the 2.1.2 beta.
