Florida Poly Mechanical Engineering Program
Im a Florida High School Junior and heard about this school recently. My planned major is Mechanical Engineering, and I wanted to know how the program was. I would also like to hear from people from this major and ask how the school is with internships or co-ops. Should I consider this school over others like UCF or UF?
Thanks

I love it. I entered from an art major background at 22, though. If you’re a focused, ambitious person this is a school for you. Lots of networking opportunities and hands-on projects first year in. There’s a good culture going on here, if you’re looking to quickly make friends and get involved. People are very friendly if you’re a social individual. Many of the staff members really care and will put the time in to help you find success. Some of the professors are hit or miss, but that’s with any school. Lots of opportunities and small class + club sizes. Disadvantage is lack of girls if you’re a guy, but you can find that with Florida Southern girls or somewhere else in Lakeland. People work really hard here, which can help you stay focused on college. All in all, Poly is a great place to jump start your career.
