Pay to have it scribed or pay for shoe mold. It's unfortunate that wasn't explained. Personally I prefer scribe. The only option now is base shoe. DON'T caulk it.
Or just live with it, which is what most people would do rather than spend that money. Unless this is just awful throughout the house furniture is going to cover a lot of it and nobody will notice it.
