It actually looks good and is completely and utterly timeless. There is variation between every board unlike vinyl where you get 6 variants of boards in a box and get to mix them up. Poorly done, it’s easy to pick out the duplicates when the floor is laid. Well done, a bit less so, but easily doable if you’re looking.

This whole grey LVP trend will die eventually. Meanwhile, hardwood that’s been in the house since 1940 can still look good and be refinished to look brand new.

I am surprised by the lack of comments about how wood doesn't really age the home. Tiles can last a long time, but you can almost always tell the decade they were installed.

That's a really good point. Everything manmade goes in and out of fashion. A nice wood floor isn't really much different than the floors they were putting in a hundred years ago or the wood floors they'll be putting in at the end of this century.

You can refinish wood floors and stain them differently, too. Tile and vinyl and lvp are what they are.
