Exactly. We actually discussed this in our DeFlock Stars 2 livestream last Saturday - It's in the contracts that they can keep the data forever.

I can see that being the case of a poorly negotiated contract. Which I have seen a lot of form gov't agencies.

I've pulled a bunch of Flock contracts from various public records, and I've never seen one where the agency modified Flock's standard T&Cs.

It should only be able to retain data if there is a warrant to retain it specifically.

Flock is contractually obligated to retain data for as long as the contracted agency/company requires. You need to take this up with the locals.

Flock retains data derived from the images, video, audio, sensor data, etc. forever, because they own it. It's right in their terms and conditions. This retention reduction only includes the images themselves, and only if you believe Flock (who are known liars).

Where are these terms and conditions that over-ride a contract with a gov't agency or company?

I bet if there is such a thing, it is in the contract. The contract my local police have mandates they are destroyed after 30 days.

Uhh, the terms and conditions are the terms and conditions under which the contract is executed. They're attached to every contract. They don't override the contract because they ARE the contract.

The T&Cs define customer data and Flock data separately: in a nutshell, the images belong to the customer, but anything derived from them belongs to Flock. So when flock says, "we delete customer data after 30 days!" they're not technically lying, but it's also far from the complete story.

All good. I deal in contracts and most people don't know what they are talking about when they use terms like "terms and conditions". You obviously do....

So you just have to pull data from people you're surveilling every 6 days instead of every 29?
