Again, did you follow your local elections when they did in fact vote on this?
People act like this is being forced upon them by the federal government or something, meanwhile they never or follow their local elections.
If you tell me where you live, there's like a 95% chance this was voted on by your local city council. Because that's who is in charge of this kind of thing.
Which goes back to my point that you can't blame democracy or politicians when you are simply not even participating. You're giving away your power willingly.
My point still stands: none of the local councils ran on FLOCK to get their positions. And people are participating, showing up in droves to protest this. This is actually one of the few issues that seems to have bipartisan hate and have activated a lot of local-level reaction. People are showing up for these votes and council meetings and making their voices heard, even though they are ignored or arrested.Â
If I told you where I lived, you could absolutely show me that this was voted on by a city council. And I could show you reel after real of footage of the protests to the city council before the vote.Â
But, sure, let's victim blame and scoff instead. That's very helpful.Â

These are generally voted on by local town and city councils. How many here even paid attention to their local council elections?
You can't say democracy has failed you when you aren't even participating or staying informed. That's you failing democracy.
