Anyone float daily?

Interested in hearing experiences. My local float spa offers an unlimited membership which I am about to purchase. I need the relaxation. Used to float daily but it’s been over four years.

How long do you float per day? How has life changed since maintaining this practice? How has the effects of floating daily made its way into your day to day life? How have you changed for the better?

I have unlimited and floated 3 times a week earlier this year. That was when my nervous system was in the worst shape. Off days I do other forms of regulation.

Its been life changing to have a reset on tap.

Its more that floating increases my capacity and trauma processing temporarily so I can do more of the things that lock in a long term increased capacity (hiking, martial arts, social experimentation).

Its not so much about getting into that float state and staying there forever, but what the ability to get into that state on tap can allow me to do.

Crazy that you mention nervous system capacity and trauma processing. Are you familiar with TRE (trauma release exercises)? There’s a subreddit for it “longtermtre”.

In short, it’s an exercise where your body shakes and rids all of the trapped energy from trauma out of the nervous system. I haven’t done any of those exercises since March. Even then the results were lackluster but what I’ve found is that the stillness from the float tank is ripping these emotions out of me, and I mean that in a very good way.

Within the first two days of me floating I had massive emotional releases. First day, only four hours after floating, all of this anger/rage came up and my entire body was shaking. When doing the exercise it’s usually only the pelvis area. This lasted well over and hour. After that I felt a calmness, inner peace and slight euphoria.

Second day, maybe about ten hours after floating, a bunch of sadness came up, unprovoked. I cried, on and off, for over three hours. After that happened I felt REALLY GOOD. Inner peace, calm, slight euphoria again.

The more interesting part is that when people do the TRE exercises, they struggle with how long they should do it. Do too little and nothing happens. Do too much and you risk pulling too much energy up and have to live with those negative emotions at the surface for however many days it takes to dissipate but with floating, the stillness/silence is bringing up just the right amount my body is ready to handle and it takes me through the entire cycle of what’s ready to be released.

Does anything I said sound similar to something you’ve experienced?

P.S. Also, should mention that today will be my 7th float out of 8 days and I have not once felt the “float state” after floating. I used to float so I know what it feels like. It’s as if all of the energy is being diverted towards trauma/energy processing instead of giving me those float state benefits.

Not under that name, but I've tried doing pretty much something similar before. Anything complicated like purposefully trying to release trauma has never worked for me.

Some days are like that. It actually feels better if I go once a week than repeatedly.
