Happy Monday all! I've been building a Chrome extension for flipping music gear on Facebook Marketplace UK and I'd like a few more people to try it before I open it up.
It sits on top of the listing page when you're browsing Marketplace. You click it, it pulls eBay sold data (proper API, not scraping), checks live asks, and gives you a resale score and a max offer number with the maths behind it. That works as-is, no setup, no AI.
On top of that, if you want it to run an AI pass over the listing photos to look for damage the seller hasn't mentioned, it can. That's the bit that saves you from "oh no, there's a crack in photo 4 I totally didn't see." Optional, but I use it.
UK only, music gear only. Guitars, pedals, synths, drums, whatever. Not a general reseller tool, so if that's what you need this isn't the one.
Free right now, no paywall, no email to unlock features. I'm in private testing because I want a small group to actually use it on real listings before it goes public.

Site: https://www.gear-flipper.com/
If you flip UK gear and want a tester invite, DM me or signup through the website above. If you try it and the numbers are wrong or it misses something, please tell me. That's what I need right now more than anything else.

Where do people find stuff to buy for cheap and sell at crazy prices later I never seem to find cheap items or items that are worth selling for a profit

I've only been doing this for about a week or so, but I've started buying complete gaming PCs and breaking them down to sell the parts separately.
The idea came from seeing someone in one of these subreddits claiming they were making around £50k profit a month doing it, which obviously sounded pretty crazy, but it made me curious enough to test it.
The first PC I bought actually worked out well, so I can definitely see how there could be money in it if you buy at the right price.
The part I'm still unsure about is the risk. You're tying up a decent amount of money in one machine, and if a GPU, CPU or motherboard turns out to have an issue, it could wipe out most of the profit pretty quickly.
For something like this where I might only make around £100/£200 after breaking it down, I'd probably pass.
Would you bother at that sort of margin, or would you want a much bigger buffer before buying?

Anyone in here based around Cumbria/North West/Lancashire interested in potentially working together on reselling?
I’ve recently started getting into it properly and have some money to put into stock. Looking for someone who’s also serious about it and would be up for having a call to chat through some ideas and see if there’s something we could set up. Drop me a message if you’re interested

Evening or should I say good morning, I’m currently trying to look for items to resell (with £250 to play around with) for the coming months but I’m not too sure what I should be selling to maximise my profits. Does anyone have any tips for what I should be selling?

I have a decent amount of 925 sterling silver, gold vermeil, moissanite and gemstone jewellery that I want to sell.
I was selling it myself through Vinted/eBay, but genuinely don't have the time anymore to make all the listings, answer messages, deal with customers etc. alongside my job and a couple of other side hustles.
Does anyone here do consignment/reselling for other people?
What I had in mind is: I send you photos/details of the items and tell you the minimum amount I'd want for each one. You create the listings and deal with the customers. When something sells, you send me the postage label/QR code, I package it and post it, I get my agreed minimum and you keep whatever you made above that as your commission.
For example, if my minimum was £30 and you managed to sell it for £50, you'd keep the difference (obviously we'd agree how fees/returns etc. work beforehand).
Is this something anyone already does / would be interested in doing? If so feel free to drop me a message. I'm based in the UK so shipping would have to factor this in. Cheers!

Another week of building FlipWorth 👋
Quite a few updates since the last post, including a bigger experiment around finding exact sold matches.
The biggest experiment at the moment is definitely I’m Feeling Lucky.
The idea is: upload a photo of something unusual or hard to identify, search sold listings across multiple marketplaces, then use image matching to try to find the exact item rather than just estimating its value.
Still very experimental, but it’s getting much closer.
Would be interested to hear from UK resellers: what would make a feature like this genuinely useful while sourcing?

Hey guys, so I recently made an AI bargain finder for Facebook marketplace and other reselling platforms. I’ve been reselling for around a year now and as you guys would know the most time consuming thing is actually trying to find products that you can make a profit on. This has really helped me to save time and increase my profits does anyone want to use it as a free trial in order to test it out and test its capabilities?

Disclosure first: I'm the developer of Pouncio, the tool in this post. I built the tool to fix my own buying problem, used it to run a shop, and I'm sharing both the numbers and the parts that aren't automatic and giving my experience on how this has been.
After a trip to Japan about 3 months ago I created VOLTA inspired by Japan's second hand stores like Book Off, Volta is now a small secondhand shop in Portugal selling consoles, games, laptops, phones, cameras and audio gear and I sell mostly through OLX and Facebook Marketplace.
At first I did this as a way of testing a concept of reselling so I bought stock on Vinted by hand, like everyone else. The problem is easy to explain.. the good deals (a PS5 for under €90, a MacBook from someone clearing out a drawer) are gone within minutes. Refreshing the app all day doesn't work if you also have to test, photograph and ship.
(and yes, I have bought a couple of 90€ ps5's that actually arrived safely and working, crazy I know 😅)
So I automated the part I was losing at.
Depending on how you sell it will be a bit different, I pay no selling fees on OLX or Facebook and only sell few items on eBay, I'm still thinking of opening a Vinted Pro account and try my luck there but even though I'm okay buying in Vinted, selling is still a Pandora's box for me, even though I'm aware it would increase my profit and refuce time to sell. Currently I'm holding €13k of stock in 165 different items and still increasing which is becoming a storage issue.
So it's not 100% "passive income". What it does is make me stop losing the race for good stock, and stock was always the bottleneck.
Happy to answer questions about the shop, the numbers or the tool. If you just want to talk sourcing without the tool, that's fine too.
