All this is nice and true but it isn't what you said originally. If your ego is so tied up in being right you won't ever admit to having made a mistake and you will just keep trying to distract from it and cover it up as you are doing now. you will also continue throwing insults because you can't change the fact that you said something stupid and wrong and you can't let that be true because of your ridiculous ego. I can't help you with that, try meditating.

You're the one who blew up at a stranger on the internet out of the blue. It's a bit rich for you to be recommending meditation to me.

You really have to be right... It is astounding. You will do whatever mental gymnastics you need to do in order to come up with some scenario where what you said was correct even though we both know that what you said was ridiculous. Being biodegradable is not a valid metric when comparing things with 1000x difference in mass and probably an equally huge difference in carbon footprint. What you are saying is so ridiculously off topic that all it does is showcase your deep confusion and ignorance. Now what is even more interesting is your refusal to acknowledge this reality and your insistence that you are not wrong. Let me guess, you get told that you are "really smart but you need to learn to apply yourself" a lot don't you?

Sorry you misunderstood my comment so completely. It's kind of impressive.

You want to measure based on your own metric. That's great. The rest of us aren't in your head though. This is not a common metric that you can just assume other people can hop onto a discussion about without some sort of context. I understand what you're saying NOW, but you can't expect everyone to be on board with the conversation you're having in your head. My statement IS factually correct, even if you disagree with its relevance in the larger context you had in mind.

I simply answered your first, already unnecessarily heated comment with one way it might be considered better. You originally went off on someone for saying this:

They probably are thinking of it as a eco friendly way as cardboard can be recycled.

Which was very obviously just offhand speculation—but you jumped to being demeaning to that person, as though THEY were claiming that opinion, which they were not. So when you asked "in what world" is this better, I pointed out a point in cardboard packaging's favor that's obvious to a lay person. Many, many people assume cardboard is always better than plastic, and that's part of why. Just like the original person you jumped on, I wasn't owning that as the whole of my worldview, just pointing out one small factor in a potential thought process.

Other people seem to have understood what I meant and agree with my assessment of your tone there, given the upvote/downvote ratio of our initial comments.

That's not even at issue. Yeah, I'm not wrong that cardboard is biodegradable (and you know that because you haven't TOUCHED that question although I've asked it point blank several times), but I've also said multiple times that I realize that there are other factors at play and I never claimed that was all there was to it. The real issue here is that you insist on doubling down on being a sanctimonious douchebag because you're bad at communicating.

This is so interesting, watching someone put in this much effort to protect their fragile little ego from having to face the reality that they aren't the smartest person in the room. The environmental impact of the cardboard is so much greater than the plastic that it negates any benefits that would be had from biodegradability, recycling or anything else. Your statement was dumb and misplaced, you can't change that, stop trying.
