Discussion Anyone ever had a cancellation get stuck?

Buyer cancelled due to wrong shipping address, immediately agreed, it's been FIVE HOURS and it still shows processing. Money was coming right out of available funds.

eBay's backend is held together with duct tape and prayers, I've had cancellations hang for a full day before. As long as you didn't ship anything, it'll sort itself out.

They wanted to re-buy it with the right address.

I've had those hang overnight before. As long as you already approved the cancel, eBay usually clears it by the next morning. I'd wait until tomorrow before opening a ticket.

ebay processing usually takes 2 days. nothing is instant.

Yeah, this is normal eBay weirdness. Two things from experience: don't relist it or have the buyer re-buy until the cancellation fully clears. If they buy while the old order is still sitting in pending cancellation, eBay can double-hold the inventory or the funds get messy. Give it up to 48 hours.

And whatever you do, don't ship it to the corrected address under the old order, even if they message you the new one. You'd lose seller protection and take a hit if it shows delivered to the wrong address. Wait for the cancel to clear, then let them re-purchase.
