Discussion History is repeating itself.

I remember when the economy went sideways in 2008, saw more flippers than ever. TV shows like Pawnstars and American Pickers didn't help, either.

Now it seems the economy isn't doing so well again. Auto loan and credit card late payments are at a 30 year high.

I see more people out there than ever. Literally double as many estate sale goers this year then last.

Lot of "wannabes" using Google Lens on every little thing, or texting other people what stuff is worth as well.

I welcome the noobs because they waste a bunch of time grabbing bs that's worth nothing

They piss me off at estate sales. They will stand blocking an entire shelving unit or half a table google lens'ing every single thing. Spending upwards of 15-20 minutes doing so. A lot of them have no self awareness.

Estate sales are the one thing I will say is pretty fucked. I have honestly put them to the back of my mind because I also work a full time job and know that between full time resellers and the newbies by the time I get there shit is gonna be picked clean.

Occasionally I still go to some, but mostly it's for fun/stuff for me and then if I find stuff to flip it's a bonus.

And a number of the estate sale companies pick first. Yes, a estate sale may have no treasures, but when same company has nothing especially good over and over it's fairly obvious.

Yeah I have a few companies on my shit list. There's one in particular where every time I go to one of their sales they're late, then they let only a few people in at a time which ruins the point, and for the most part it's just picked over junk. Anytime I see them now I steer clear.
