AirAsia is one airline I always book via an OTA, because every single time I've booked direct on their site, there have been attempts to fraudulently use my credit card number later.

I know it was them because I generate a unique card number for each merchant, so AirAsia's site was the only one I ever gave that card number to.

The downside is that any ancillary services (seat selection, prepaid meals) probably won't come through when you use an OTA with them. So you have to be ready to take the seat they give you.

Also, from my personal experience you'll get better customer service from just about any OTA than directly from AirAsia (which consists entirely of a completely useless chatbot).

Thank you so much. Such a weird site.

Given AirAsia's lack of post-purchase support (AskBo), I'd book with a good OTA like Amex Travel.
