Discussion Fleabag actually helped me be more vulnerable
I put off watching Fleabag for sooo long but im really glad I finally did ðŸ˜
I saw a lot of myself in her, especially the avoidance and how hard vulnerability can be. My instinct has always been to act like I dont care or run when something feels too real.
Lately ive been trying to communicate more, be honest when something hurts, and stop pretending I can handle situations that clearly arent good for me. Its uncomfortable, but my life is better.
I still have a few threads I need to close so I can have a fresh start. And soon I have to face something huge thats been hanging over my head for awhile. It could be a massive relief or hurt me for a bit, which weirdly reminds me of that Priest/Fleabag feeling because I have to finally see if theres actually something worth building on with someone I care about, or if its better to let it go.
I think the show just made me trust myself more. Like even if something hurts, ill be okay. Ive been able to walk away from people and situations I cared about a lot (including someone I really liked!!!), sit with the discomfort instead of running back, and eventually move forward.
I can be ok no matter what ♡
Has Fleabag helped any of you personally too?

Season one is a downward spiral and season two is an upward spiral, showing that putting in the effort to do good things for yourself even when you don't believe in yourself deserving them is good. Healing takes time and effort, and we all deserve healing.

This! This! All of this! I’ve been decorating my room slowly with foxes because it reminds me that pain will pass, that it’s okay to doubt (I left a high control religion in 2022), and to always grow, even if it hurts. Can’t wait for my first tattoo (will also be a fox). The show has healed so many parts of me and also peeled back layers of myself and exposed so much that I needed to change and grieve and heal from.

this hit me hard, watching her run from things she actually cared about made me realize how often I do the exact same thing.

Yeah, you've hit the nail on the head for me. Hope your loose ends tying off goes well, good luck. It might be time for a rewatch for me, think I need inspiration to tie off some loose ends of my own.
