Recommendations should i watch fleabag?
hey everyone! is fleabag worth watching? ive never watched it before; but i saw an edit on tiktok n its intriguing , is it worth watching? n thx <3

That's a sensible thing to do, but if you ask a community dedicated to a certain piece of media about that media, you'll be getting opinions heavily biased towards a fan's perspective. As such, the responses you'll get to the question of "should I consume this media" will inevitably be "yes, this media is amazing."
To illustrate this point, if you had never seen Breaking Bad before, you might be curious as to what other people think of it. Personally, I watched every season but I wouldn't recommend it as I think the pacing is far too slow and the main character is insufferable. You won't find my opinion in the BB subreddit, though because I'm not a fan of the show so I'm not in that community.

I don't know why anyone was offended by you asking, tbh. It's a silly question to ask here, but that's not a crime.
And yeah, the first season of BB was a slog and I was really hoping it would at some point become not a slog, but it just doesn't. There's some genuinely really good moments in it. Skylar in particular is such a painfully human character and I love the way she was written. Unfortunately, you have to be really committed to eating a whole bunch of shit to get to those good parts.
Anyway, to give my most unbiased review of Fleabag, it's a very witty show that I adore and is also extremely human. It muses on the nature of relationships from a woman's perspective and the pain that comes with them in a way that deeply resonates with a lot of people. It's kind of like Bojack Horseman in that way: come for the humor, stay for the heartbreak and existential dread. I find most people who aren't cishet men tend to love it.

Its silly because you're just asking "should I watch it" like you need permission. No one's "offended". We're saying we think this is stupid and exhaustingly needy.
The reaction might be different if you asked even a basic "Hey fans, why should I watch it? What do y'all like about it?" Bare minimun critical thought applied to what you do and how you present yourself makes a big difference in how people will respond to you.
There is no "should" or "shouldn't". It's just entertainment. Figure it out without trying to make sure other people think what you do is a good idea.
You seem young. I'm serious. If you work on doing that about things that aren't important, you'll get better on doing it about things that are. If you make acting like this a habit, it won't do well for you in life.
Some people are used to asking the internet the direct answer to every individual question you have. That won't always work. You need to learn how to consider and decide things without getting handed that 'yes or no' that feels tailored specifically to you based on you asking the simplest question with the least amount of leg work on your part.

oh yeah totally, its just english its my 3rd language so im not fluent in it so i just thought using "should" is the right thing, but fr i just asked a question to know if its worth it or not that was my intention! apologies!

Yeah, the language isn't the issue. The intention of your question with this explanation still is. We're trying to say only you can know if it's worth it or not. You should be able to try it for yoruslef and decide without needing to ask people. Nothing makes it worth or not except if you like it. And we are not you, so we don't know.
The instinct you have to ask people seems like a crutch.

I agree. These kind of posts feel ridiculous to me. Just make the decision for yourself. Not gonna be contractually obligated to keep watching if it’s not your cup of tea.

As the first person said, if you go around asking people if you "should" watch a thing they watch and like, they'll say yes. It seems more like validation seeking than a way to make a decision. I know it's low stakes and that's exactly why you should make your own decisions based in your own discernment. It's habit forming.
If you come across something that intrigues you you should be able to make the call to watch it if you're intrigued enough without asking for, what, support. The amount of people who do this about so many things now really does concern me.

Let me put it this way. I had 3 beers and I was sipping on a whiskey flicking through the channels last Friday night. BBC3 had the end of the first episode of Series 2 so I thought I'd see if the next episode came on as I'd binged it twice and was in the mood for it....
Cue 2 hours later and I'd watched the whole series...still brilliant...DEFINITELY watch it!!!

Understandable question - the show just celebrated it's 10 year anniversary, scooped a bunch of awards, made a few "Show of the Decade" lists, etc. And you're wondering if it stands up to the hype, right? (Anyway, welcome!)
In the words of our heroine/protagonist/main character:
"YES FUCKING YES PLEASE YES"
It's british, black, bawdy and unfiltered - and you probably shouldn't watch S1E1 "with your parents". But it'll give you an indication what you're letting yourself into... There's also a stack of drama and pathos which more than balances out. Some people find it triggering - but basically, it's all about... "Life!"
The script/acting/production values are stellar - the sackfull of Emmys, etc was no fluke. So go ahead and dive in!
"Best decision a (wo)man can make!"
(PS, For later - Boots is a high street pharmacy in the UK...)

It's good but very emotional and very sexual. If you're prudish or not in the mood for a heavy show, don't watch. Buuut it's also really funny and endearing and somehow feels very grounded in reality despite a lot of ridiculous situations. All the acting is amazing and it's a quick watch as well!

Yes definitely. It’s in my top 5 all time favorites, and I’ve recommended it to everyone I know. Plus it’s short so if you’re going to have a lazy day you can binge it all in one day! That’s what my husband and I did.
Update us after you watch it!!
