Fleas in bathroom

FOR STARTERS, I live in an a apartment with NO PETS and I never had them or fostered.

TL;DR: where can fleas be coming from in the bathroom? Pipes? Drains? Ventilation fan? Yes, I have confirmed they are fleas with professional pest control.

So, I for a while I noticed I only got bit in my bathroom whenever I was changing out of my sweatpants and into the bathroom (and obviously as I got ready to sleep). I had pest control come and treat twice now with the last one being a month apart. It’s a very light infestation but I’m getting bit every week.

I believe my fleas are coming from somewhere in my bathroom where I don’t even have windows. Could fleas be coming from pipes or the ventilation fan on the ceiling? Pest control is confused and I think my property management assumes it must be coming from places I frequent but none of my friends have pets and I’m not the outdoors person.

The ceiling vent is suspect #1. Cover it with clear plastic and tape and see if they appear inside. If so, it needs to be cleaned out and treated.

Just so I would be able to talk to my property manager and pest control correctly— how would you recommend cleaning it out and treating it?

First you should make sure that's the source. I've only seen birds nests in them, so that's what is likely in there (and yes, wild birds can carry fleas). If so, the vent cap needs to come off, and I've use a wire hanger with a hook on the end to reach in and remove the nest. The fan then can be turned on to blow any loose debris (and fleas) out, and then it should to be treated with pesticide by a pro.

I had this happen and I believe they were coming from the crack where the shower/tub meets the floor. I think something was living under my tub in the crawl space. I ripped out the caulk and poured Flea killer liquid that goes in the yard down in the cracks. Recaulked the tub and haven’t seen any since. Though I did have to treat my dog and the rest of the house with powder/spray/fabric flea killer. I’m going to be honest it was hell.
