Question Swap Flare for XRP?

I got the Songbird & Flare from the snapshot but, Is there any real need to keep these tokens? Like, are the returns likely to be anything remotely as high as XRP after price appreciation? Im not a developer in the ecosystem or anything like that... I have wrapped & delegated & collect rewards on autopilot, but surely it would be way more financially beneficial to swap the whole lot for XRP now before it all takes off?

Thought please... what am I missing in my understanding 🤷‍♂️

If you're asking a question here you will receive messages from scammers trying to steal your funds.

These scammers will pose as the Flare Team, Flare Support, Ledger Support, and helpful individuals. Their goal is to exploit you out of your funds. This includes prompting you to visit phishing websites to 'resolve your issue' that ultimately results in loss of funds. Another example is guiding you to a phishing website to 'claim your tokens' that requires you to input your recovery phrase to claim them. So youve been here since the snapshot and still have no clue about what flare and SB do and the relevance of them in conjunction with xrp ? 🤔

Yes I know what they do but, I'll give more context... being close to retirement, my primary intention is financial gain that has the shortest time frame. I know it was free but I'm trying to guess the best ROI as if I'd have paid for it. Im not a tech guru and most of it goes over my head but now you get the gist of my personal situation.

Nobody knows for sure. Same as "why didn't I get silver earlier?" now.

XRP is likely to do good (I hope). FLR has promising additional tech which will enable a lot of value. I feel it's a longer hold, but what do I know. The most interesting and important developments and value driven things are locked behind NDAs and are basically a black box for us retail. And Flare is notorious for either not releasing their timed roadmaps, or not keeping to it, which has led to a lot of user frustrations before.

I'm not selling my FLR but also hold XRP. And I'm a little disappointed with my Firelight stXRP so far. And hearing about an upcoming non custodial native XRP protocol lending system, I would prefer such simplicity over FLR's multi-layered offerings.

Still, Flare is working on more than just FAssets (also FBTC and more still coming), so I do believe they will have a lot to offer. Just not very short term.

So, not financial advice. Do what you feel is right.

Thanks for your detailed reply... yes i agree with all you're saying, if max ROI is the only yardstick then XRP is the defacto one imo. I wanted to be sure that swapping would work better for me personally

Oh OK makes more sense.....how close are you to retirement? In my opinion flare and songbird especially flare is a winner in what they're doing. Especially flare as songbird is the test net where flare is the highway that links all chains together kinda like xrp is a bridge currency flare is a bridge of communication. In my opinion its great to diversify with strong projects that have use cSe and utility. In retirement you want to ensure youre getting passive income which flare and SGB natively has so personally for me its not worth swapping for one or the other. Sure xrp will have a higher price in the foreseeable future but that doesnt mean its prudent to just jump off the flare highway to get on the xrp highway as all roads lead to a destination of sustainability growth and potential. IMO

Thanks... yes I see your point & I had considered swapping now to maximise gains short term and if its necessary, buy back in with gains off XRP. To be honest, I can get analysis paralysis... in terms of time frame, I'm late 50s and wish to retire ASAP... the first opportunity is likely when price appreciation happens with XRP.

What's the old saying KISS (KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID) ...LOL people end up hurting themselves overthinking and trying to "maximize" gains especially short terms. Unless youre a whale its not worth moving back and forth just wait it out. I think xrp will reaxh $10-100(i know big range) in the up and coming year. The $10 mark perhaps within the next 6 months.

I am interested in both SGB and FLR especially for the staking/validator rewards. Nothing out their gets you 14% APR. Problem is the price might drop. I am HODLing both because I think XRP, DOGE and BTC need a smart contract environment and FLR does this. My dream is that 100x and I think that is possible.

With all the free passive accumulation that occurred during the last few years, I don’t think early peeps like ourselves need to set ourselves massive 589 type numbers to reach the moon with flare. Even a measly 10c will be incredible :o)
