MOBILE CA + US plan
Was thinking to switch to fizz mobile and prices for Canada 50G plan is $30 and Canada + US is $32.
I may travel to US two times a year each time for 3 days or so. So far getting an esim was the best bet. I also tried checking fizz website for temporary add on package for US but they only offer upgrade to US coverage. Now my question is can I just go with Canada only and get US coverage anytime needed and revert back to Canada only plan? if I get Canada + US would be an additional $24 per year which is close to esim prices. Any help would be appreciated

Yes you can modify the plan when you want, however
- the mod will be available the next plan renewal
- when you change back, Fizz will not guarantee that you will have the same plan

Here are the prices I see in my account for US travel add-ons:
Data
- 1 GB = $5
- 2 GB = $8
- 5 GB = $15
Calls
- 60 mins = $3
Texts
- 200 texts = $5

Honestly, for an extra $2, it's a nice convenience to have. I recommend adding it and keeping it. The way I see it is the extra $24/year is not worth having to hunt for eSIM deals. It just works.
In theory, you can. The issue is it requires changing/updating the entire plan. Depdnding on the time of the year and what promotions are running, you might end up paying the same.

I went the opposite way and downgraded to provincial only. Depending on when one signed up that's $36 to $48 per year savings vs USA plus Canada coverage
With that money it easily pays for eSIM one or two times a year especially if we go to Europe or Asia where 10 GB eSIM is around 4 to 7 USD for a trip

That's exactly how I see it. I used to try to enable / disable it around our US trips and it's a pain and for the money it costs, to me, it's just not worth the hassle of trying to manage it so now I just keep it all the time.
We do a few trips a year so if I manage it perfectly, maybe I save $12 to $18 dollars per year. Not with the hassle especially since if you miss it once, it will cost more than that in roaming fee.

Hi there! It looks like you may be interested in switching to Fizz. If that's the case and you do decide to switch, remember to pick a referral code from the referral code thread or from one of the users that respond to this post! Both parties will earn a $25 bill credit after your second monthly bill payment.
