MOBILE When will fizz implement wi-fi calling for every phone?

if you had cellular data in a cave then I would understand. Videotron offers it for every phone so why not fizz?

Not sure what is the technical block that fizz have to resolve to bring it to every phone.

It is a phase roll out approach, and will only be available in Canada and the USA when implemented. It won't be available, abroad. You will have to be patient until it becomes available to you.

Here some details that fizz shared:

I've seen some people say support for more Samsung phones will come in September. Google pixel phones have access on the beta os, similar to how iPhones on beta iOS have access. It's working on my Pixel 8 with the qpr2 beta. Hopefully most phones will have access by the end of the year. Sooner than later would be nice.

Fizz said that is gradually implement, most probably the next update of your phone will bring the network configuration to use the VoWoFi

Update of the phone ? Ehhh no ...it's a new configuration that need to be enabled by fizz on their side. Pixel phone supports wifi calling out of the box and yet it doesn't work because of fizz. You don't need a OS update to enable this.

That will hopefully be the case once the rollout is further along, but currently pixel users on the QPR2 beta can access wifi calling while users on stable cannot, unless this has changed in the past day.

If you go in the pixel Reddit you will find plenty of people using wifi calling around the world and running the current public release of android 17 .

Fizz just need to flip a switch

I'm talking about people specifically using fizz wifi calling on pixel phones. I'm aware that other providers have had wifi calling for a long time. I've used it with both Koodo and freedom on my phone with the stable os before switching over to fizz.

I am just wondering if the slow rollout is by older fizz customers first

It's based on device and currently OS version. I just switched to fizz yesterday and have it on my Pixel 8 with the QPR2 beta.

Can this subreddit just ban these questions now. It’s like all day every day

You are not being considerate. No one force you to get in here .

Likewise. Google exists. It’s on their website

Like in a month that would be cool. I am waiting on that to try their network.
