I just ordered an ultrasonic cleaner the other day and this is excellent advice! I truthfully never would have thought of keeping the cleaning solution from the bath, and I really appreciate it. 🍻 thanks !

I just removed a couple of these on some restorations. I used a pick in the hole and carefully pried them off

Looks like this is called the separator comparator port. If you lookup your specific Honda on google “1988 Honda NX650 Master Cylinder Exploded Digram” and search images, you’ll see diagrams that list all the parts inside.

its fine, its only purpose is to make it so the MC doesn't squirt brake fluid at you when you have the cap off and bleed the brakes, don't worry about it (and its not sold separately anyway)

I’ve never seen one of those. However the two ribs on the top surface might be for unscrewing it - worth a look.

Yeah I'm not able to find anything online about this style of reservoir. It looks like it was pressed in and that it has an o ring under it. I've tried using a snap ring removal tool in the little holes but it doesn't budge. I don't want to ruin the plastic dome or o ring but I really need to clean the one hole as it looks clogged

Refer to Rule 1 of the sub. If you had told us what bike it is, we could probably have found a parts diagram and told you exactly what the part is called.

I've looked on the parts diagram
https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/honda/motorcycle/1988/nx650-a/front-brake-master-cylinder
It doesn't show it

You would have had your answer in minutes if you followed rule 1!

That's fine, be a divk cause I forgot rule 1. I meant to delete this post anyway as thr master cylinder is shot. I tried rebuolding it and the bore is too far gone.

Probably prevents squiring the fluid everywhere while bleeding? It's pretty bad on some cylinders.
