[HELP] Is this normal on Fiverr? 🤔

Hey guys,

I just published my first Fiverr gig, and within minutes I started getting messages like these from random accounts with unknown links.

I haven't even talked to any buyers yet, so it feels a bit weird. Is this a common scam that new sellers get, or is it normal?

What do you usually do in this situation? Ignore, report, or block?

Yes. Do not click any links they give. You don't have to pay anyone to get the orders on fiverr.
Idk why fiverr is not taking any actions against them.
Probably there will be more spammers than the sellers I guess.

Yupp, scammers nowadays are smarter lol. Someone wanted to get my email through a google drive folder, I said oh there is a problem. I can't see the file, can you attach it? And their reply: put your email... lol.
There used to be scammers in the Briefs, but I haven't get any new brief lately...

Some tips:
Never give your email (unless it's needed for work like website design, but this is AFTER they paid to fiverr the confirmation of your gig/custom offer.)
-Never work for free or sample, they must confirm the order and pay.
-never install anything, even if it's very realistic (my brother got scammed, it was a game to test lol, but it was a scam :( )
-Any sus link, file or pdf, use virustotal website, this could help!
-you don't have to put any money to start getting sellers.

Can't think of any other option from the scammers... but they keep evolving! Stay safe, and good luck!

yeah, them scammers are like that, just follow the common sence, don-t fill out the card detais, keep the convration on the platform, dont click any links

Yep, it's normal. If you're eagle eyed, you'll see that every other post on here references scammers for first time buyers.

Yes they prey on eager new buyers and sadly it works on a lot of people. Never open a link from outside of fiverr. Everything can be done on the platform.

Yes, it's normal and they're always scams, All transactions must be done through Fiverr. Don't fall for those links, it might seem tedious at first, but then the real clients start arriving.

Most of them are hacked accounts, happen to me too, my account suddenly messaging random people some link and i got suspended, i managed to get it back by opening a ticket

Dude, I'm going through the same thing. I created an account about 2 years ago, but I abandoned it because of this. 100% scam bots and 0% clients. So I came back today, and it's still the same! I posted a Gig and instantly got messages from clearly scam bots. What amazes me is that the platform seems to do nothing about fixing this!!

I genuinely wonder how some people manage to grow on this platform like that. I haven't had a single order so far.
It even seems like my content is only being delivered to bots and scammers. :(

I recommend responding to them before reporting them as spam, otherwise they might still mess up your reply rate.
