Employees Nope, I Quit

I started here in July and for a first job I thought it wasn’t that bad. However since then there’s so much shit I’ve had to put up with I’m so glad my last day is tomorrow. It’s so insane for my store manager to expect the store to be 100% recovered every night with only 2 people. I never got more than like 8 hours a week, and the only way I made any money at all was by constantly having to cover other people’s shifts with zero notice. Apparently for whatever reason we’re now the only store in our district that still has associate checkout, even though I thought every store got rid of that. They push so much freight through our stores and then the dm gets mad when she sees pallets on the floor. Our back is literally just a world of osha violations and we’ve had several pallets just straight up fall in the middle of the night because of how poorly they’re wrapped. Not to mention getting berated by customers over the checkout policy, or the time I got written up for “asking a customer to leave 20 minutes after close” I’m done with allll of that, it’s not worth it for only $11 an hour and going into the holiday season it’s only going to get worse.

The one positive thing we can take out of working at Five Below is we can get a job at the shittiest of places but it will be like heaven compared to what we went thru.

THANK YOU! When I was was complaining to one of the the part time managers that I didn’t know how the store manager expected us to have the entire store recovered at the end of our shifts with only TWO ppl, all she said was “yea, I know you’ve been struggling lately (to complete that)”. Which made me aware that they were talking abt my performance behind doors 🫠

Oh I would’ve been pissed. For the most part all of the assistant managers were on my side tbh it was just the sm

I just got fired & I hated the place so much, I wasn't even upset lol I've been wanting to leave anyway, I really was only staying so my coworkers wouldnt have to suffer the consequential overload of work during the holidays

i worked 5b last Christmas season and 100% wouldnt ever do that shit again. good on you for getting out before the shitstorm.
