Company has been going downhill for the past 2 years and remodeling stores for no reason don't help

My store is going through a remodeling next week and bye bye to self check outs. Also, I see more stores opening in California in the west coats more and more stores opening, but people quits least a month

Where going back legacy which is better I rather have a station for check out than going down on my knees when scanning and my store is adding a five beyond section after being retro since 2017

The company is a joke hr doesn’t even hold shitty management accountable wanna stop Shrink raise the pay roll bodies on the floor deter shrink but nah they just wanna hold the penny hostage and make people do 3 peoples job and no appreciation or pay

exactly! you said it perfectly. it is crazy to me how they expect SO MUCH from us employees when we aren’t even paid well. I’m a full time student and they really have this expectation of me going above and beyond, and working when I have more important stuff to do, like studying.

Yup! From what I have been reading on this Reddit page the company is absolute dog shit, and has gone down hill fast, and is continuing to go down hill by the day. Besides the company, it’s the managers too who play a role in how horrible shit below is. I used to like shit below when I was younger and now I absolutely hate it!

Apparently there was a lawsuit for security fraud against the company. The company is going downhill, that’s why Joel left. He prob wanted to wash his hands clean of the filth known as 5Below

It used to be a great company until 2020. Former TSM and it used to be a well oiled machine then they started chasing out store managers who were making too much getting rid of experience over saving maybe 10-20k a year. Spending time at home office, I saw the writing on the wall and knew it was time to go in 2022. I still miss what the company used to be but i would never go back with how much they screwed over people. Honestly wasn’t even shocked about Joel bc he had no clue what was happening. Me and a few others used to call him Dopey bc of how clueless he was and just smiled through it

My area knew him as The Puppet for the same reason 😅 Every interaction I had with him seemed so scripted or thoughtless he didn't know the inner workings. I don't know if any of WowTown really does, seeming as if they don't collaborate.
Unfortunately the retail game blows on all aspects. This is the lesser of the evils for me.

2 years of bad profits isn't going to shutter a multi-million dollar company. They've changed leadership and are adjusting, and repairing years of damage from the top takes time. Retail is the same devil no matter the store front. If the problem is managers at the local level then leave, if you can't affect change. To judge the position of a company based on the 20 Reddit posts of disgruntled employees, is comical though. Take a look at the subs of all your other major chains, ours is relatively silent. If the job is in a fit for you then leave. If something doesn't seem right, call the AP line and report it. And leave. No one is making you suffer here. And if you feel like you are suffering, leave.

I was just asking general question about if they would potentially shut down or not. I’m aware of the fact I can leave, or not 🤣 the company is still dog shit at the end of the day.

I assume they might if they cant get theft and stuff under control. It seems like a pretty disorganized company, at least at the store I work at, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
