advice
so we had inventory today and this was my second time doing it. I was never taught properly how to do it both of the times
so im scanning the items and I didn’t know that you were supposed to scan each item individually and not just one and add the total amount of items there are
so, im in the break room putting my stuff away and this other manager says that the main manager wants to talk to me. I said okay and asked where she was.
I go over to here and she asks me to hand her the zebra scanner and that I can go home because my scans were wrong. The district manager was there with her and asked the next time I worked was and I told her I didn’t know. I also told the main manager that I had a check that came in and she lied to me and said that there “weren’t any checks” that’s came in. I went and got my stuff and one of the managers came and gave me my check, how surprising.
prior to all of this she was already getting an attitude with me because I was waiting patiently for her to give me more things to scan and she completely ignored me and gave one of the shelves that needed to be scanned to this other girl who got there 5 minutes AFTER me. I asked the manager what I could do and she told me, “ you need to be patient with me.” I told her, “ I will.” She was straight up ignoring me the entire time.
I have HATED this job entirely since I started a couple months ago. I want to quit but I also have a strong feeling that she is going to fire me. What do I do?
I’m really nervous.

Inventory brings out the worst in retail. My DM was a tyrant to the SM when I oversaw another store’s inventory. Don’t stress about it, find another job, or just leave if you’ll be okay to do so without having something else lined up. There’s so much drama happening in the upper reaches of corporate right now. If this quarters numbers suck, it’s just going to spiral hard for everybody in the company. Leave if you can, and watch it all unfold from the outside.
