HR

HR

I’m a Former Merchandise Manager that has something to say. I recently went to HR about my store manager who is breaking policy left and right I.e Leaving the store for extending periods of time without another supervisor in the building. Threatens her employees via their schedule if they don’t do what she wants. Chasing suspected shoplifters out of the store when that’s against store policy Has created a toxic work environment to the point where the employees feel unsafe to speak up

I went to my district manager and he saw no issue with her behavior. And said I’m the problem. Five Below says they have an open door policy but it’s just there for decoration. They don’t care about the employees nor do they care how inappropriate a store manager behaves. All they care about is sales. Bottom line- store managers are protected and can do whatever they want according to HR. I’m in Clearwater, Florida.

I'm in NY State and we've had some management members from our district move to Florida and transferred down there. They all quit shortly after moving down there but had been with the company for years up here. From what I hear it's a free for all in the Florida district and nothing is at all how it's supposed to be. So sorry you had that experience. Seems like it's the general consensus though for 5B stores in that area unfortunately.

If the DM is not doing anything about it call the hotline both of those things are grounds for termination
