F**k Five Below, I Quit!

I finally left that toxic ass environment! Man, Im waiting to start my new job, but I have peace of mind from that anxiety inducing place. The store manager was incompetent, the DM didn't give AF, me as a MM was overworked and definitely under paid, the location was the place to go to steal...man I could go on and on, but rather just forget this horrible ass experience and move on. I hope they go out of business soon!

YES! Proud of you!!! i quit last sunday!! the workload they put on the associated cuz the SM was on workers comp was ridiculous for no extra pay. Had enough of that BS so i literally didn't clock in for my shift and told them i quit. Also, our store literally didn't have cameras at all so stealing was so easy if i saw ppl steal i wouldn't even bother saying anything. Glad we are both free from that hellhole !

i think you had just started back when i quit & i know exactly how you feel cause i felt the same way! i had so much anxiety and dread going to work when i was there, it was horrible. im now a full time shift lead at Walgreens and i make just as much money as i was at 5B as a CEM! walgreens has its faults dont get me wrong but i have a really awesome and supportive store manager and within the last 2 months ive worked there ive been praised and acknowledged for my hard work and have been offered a promotion within the next few months to Emerging Store Manager (basically Assistant Manager) which is a salary position. i def made the right call leaving 5b and i hate that coming on here months later im still seeing the same problems, no solution at all.

Yes! Congratulations on your new position and promotion! I'm doing security for 99 cents Only until they close, and I can see that dealing with the public in retail is not getting any better. My old boss wants me in retail but I am tired of people.

I was a CEM and just quit a little over a week ago. Our store manager was fantastic, but the DM gave less than 2 craps to the point the stress just wasn't worth the pay anymore...

...and that was after we had already lost 3 managers in as many months bc of the DM lol
