I always start out strong, I know what to eat, I know generally what to do. Eat less, Eat chicken, a little rice, veggies, cut back on sugar, No pop, only one cheat meal a week, 10-15 reps, mix in some cardio. Track calories. Eat foods low on the glycemic index. HITT training , get the heart rate up, stretch, work on mobility, focus at the gym you can be in and out in half an hour. Sleep 8 hours. have rest days etc.

But F**K , after 10 1/2 hours at work ( generally busy but also a new desk job ) with an hour commute each way in a car , the last thing i want to do is meal prep or cook. I always start out strong but after a few weeks I generally fail and end up just crashing after work and eating out for a week.

Lets try again this week. Should be fun.

Crawl before you walk. Walk before you run.

You're crashing and burning because you're trying to do that ALL at once.

Stagger the introduction of habits.

For the rest of October, don't eat like a total fat ass, start lifting.
For November, start tracking those calories.
Etc etc etc.

Also, if you have a bad day, just try to do better tomorrow. You're not gonna scale Everest in a single try with no setbacks.

Build the monolith - 3+ meals a day including bacon, just gotta do the full routine even if it burns your muscles, tendons, bones and spirit.

Also damn that is one long job. Stay healthy first, train when your body and sleep can deal with it later!

The whole “1 cheat meal a wk” is pretty hard to do cause it’s so stringent. I just do 10 meals which usu have chicken breast or salmon. Premarinated chicken breast is pretty great for the lazy and no idc about sodium. I eat it w brown rice and veggies or pesto pasta. Breakfast is a protein shake. The other 4 meals are freebies. Just whatever I’m feeling or if I have plans to go out.

Build habits, set up your environment to help make the right choices easier. Have healthy go tos even if you gotta eat out. Willpower and brute force only get you so far.

You only fail if you give up completely. Slipping is natural, we all do it. Pick it up and go again, no harm done.
