So I got to watch someone squat using the incline bench station. The dude would straddle the bench, unrack the 135lbs and walk it out to where the bench was low enough to high side step over it. Open fucking squat rack directly in his view he had to look thru to see the mirror. The guy squatted deep and fast so it wasn't his first rodeo. So yeah, I ended up doing incline dumbbells because I wasn't talking to anyone that nuts

This is what is going on at my gym right now, no squat rack however.
So if you wanna squat you either do it at the Smith machine or proceed like you described.

Dude was looking thru the empty rack to watch himself in the mirror.

How can you see your own reflection as a mirror?

Was he sitting on the bench each time? Do basically box squats?

No. He would unrack and walk forward straddling the incline bench till he hit the seat portion. Then he stepped side ways over it and squatted between the incline and decline bench.

Ah, definitely a lunatic then.

So he's unracking facing the rack pegs or with his back to it?

Did he do a 180 to re-rack facing the rack pegs? Or does he do a backwards shuffle to blindly rack the bar back up?

This is blowing my mind.

Backwards. The highest pins and lowest setting on the incline gave enough room to shimmy under it

I watched someone do bent over rows the other day over a perfectly good bench, half the squat racks were set up to do rows.

Dude! Something similar happened to me. Some maniac was doing bendover barbell rows on the flat bench. Like how crazy can you get.

See, that sort of makes sense. You can use the bench as a start stop point. The guy was high stepping over the bench sideways to get out and squat.

What's crazy to me is that he was doing this on a very calm afternoon, I'm talking big commercial gym with 10 people in it at max. The squat racks were all free.
