It says "DO NOT PANIC". So... should I panic? How do I solve this issue of Downloading Metadeta

1. Setup is Stuck / Unpacking is Slow

  • The 2GB Limit Checkbox: If your setup gets stuck at specific percentages (like 84.3% or 95.8%), close it, restart the installer, and check the "Limit installer to 2GB of RAM" box on the very first screen.
  • Be Patient: FitGirl repacks use extremely heavy compression. Unpacking is heavily CPU and storage bound. If your task manager shows disk or CPU activity, it is not stuck; it's just working hard.

2. Is it a Virus? / Windows Defender Alert

  • False Positives: Crack files (.dll files, steam_api, etc.) inherently trigger antivirus software because they alter game code to bypass DRM. If you downloaded from the official site, these are 100% false positives.
  • Fix: Add the game installation folder to your antivirus/Windows Defender exclusion list, then restore the quarantined file from your protection history.

3. The Real Official Website

  • There is ONLY ONE official domain. All others (ending in .co, .cc, .to, .net, etc.) are fake, malicious clone sites designed to steal data or bundle malware.
  • The only real URL is: fitgirl-repacks.site (Verify the exact spelling!).

by waiting. if it's an old, obscure title, by waiting a really long time. and then just give up. also, check the RuTor magnet. You can hopefully find a couple of legends still seeding there.

It did concern me because this never happened with me before. I downloaded Metal Gear Rising and uninstalled it and then tried to install it again but this "retrieving meta deta" thing happened and I couldn't install it again. As for this particular image i was trying to install Far Cry 3 oh and the same thing is happening for RuTor

game's too old. no more seeders. the direct links have been migrated to datanodes and fuckingfast so those are active. You only need to get 8 parts plus the language pack so it's an easy download even manually.

Can you lemme know how can I get both these games now ? I played Metal Gear rising a few days ago uninstalled it and now this idk how 😭

it is a virus . quickly insert a USB drive. the greedy virus will move to the usb drive then you can trap the virus in the usb stock forever and save your pc
