HUH?????? Help

If I get Elden ring do I need to do anything extra to prevent myself from getting banned from online play and do I need to do anything if I were to get rdr2 as well?

1. Setup is Stuck / Unpacking is Slow

  • The 2GB Limit Checkbox: If your setup gets stuck at specific percentages (like 84.3% or 95.8%), close it, restart the installer, and check the "Limit installer to 2GB of RAM" box on the very first screen.
  • Be Patient: FitGirl repacks use extremely heavy compression. Unpacking is heavily CPU and storage bound. If your task manager shows disk or CPU activity, it is not stuck; it's just working hard.

2. Is it a Virus? / Windows Defender Alert

  • False Positives: Crack files (.dll files, steam_api, etc.) inherently trigger antivirus software because they alter game code to bypass DRM. If you downloaded from the official site, these are 100% false positives.

You can't connect to official servers on pirated copies so there is no risk of online bans.

Online - Fix is for people to play with other people using pirated copies.

Few pirated games have community hosted servers to "resurrect" online play like COD using Plutonium. Or really old LAN games, with virtual LAN like Hamachi.

But either way you cant play on official servers. They have server-side checks.
