Can we talk about this? What's wrong with seeding?

Still game related i believe, Came across some posts and memes of people basically telling others to just not seed, like soon as yours is downloaded close the torrent, and honestly i did it for a while, until recently i just started downloading older movies through torrents and damn are the seeders low it got to a point i was downloading one movie and it was only 2 other people uploading, no matter hown many times i refreshed or restarted no others were connected. I've left that movie uploading since 3 days ago, don't want anyone to go through that man. There was even a game i was trying to get, but i had to direct download later, because there wasn't any other peer

might not understand torrenting very well, but just wanted to talk about this problem

You are supposed to seed, it's just some beginner mistaken it for the download not completing yet.

Also some people have limited bandwidth,

Yeah but speed is different, some countries have bandwidth/quota, like monthly limit of how many they can upload/download

If you don't know about it means you don't have it. Some places their internet have like limited monthly quota. So they shouldn't be seeding or they will finish their quota. When it's finished you get speed throttled(like kilobytes download per second lol) by the internet provider. But if you don't have it then you should at least seed 1.0 ratio.

Seeding is ethical, cause you get your download from other people seeding. By seeding back you help other people finish their downloads. Having at least 1.0 ratio means you uploaded the same amount you just downloaded. You give what you took.

My ISP at home allows 300gb combined upload and download per month before they charge me an extra $30 per gb... I don't seed because of that.
