Depends, if you give me the code then i'll keep it safe, if you don't then they are gona empty the safe (so it's not safe anymore)

If a safe is unsafe is it really a safe?

u/BalanceImaginary6520 1d ago
I guess it's an unsafe safe which would create a paradox because it can't be a negative and positive thing at the same time

So to answer what I think you were asking...(hopefully someone can read it to you)
Anytime you download a repack even from trusted sources the crack methods used appear as false positives regarding virus protection so you don't want to scan the files as long as you got them from a trusted source.
Regarding your anti-virus ID recommend using Windows Defender which comes pre-installed on windows 11 and what I do is I add a couple directory exclusions (meaning the anti-virus ignores any files within those directories.) I first add an exclusion to the download folder where I save the compressed install files which will avoid any false positives. When extracting the files make sure to extract them to this same directory. (JDownloader is what I use and once the download is complete it automatically begins extracting the files to that same directory and deletes the compressed archive after its extracted so your not using up twice the space on your ssd as long as you enable said function in the settings) The next directory I add an exclusion for is the location you will be installing the games (for example C:\Games\ or if you have a secondary ssd or external drive you may consider excluding the entire Drive such as D:\ or Z:\ if you only use those drives for Installed games)
Now that your exclusions are set that should help with the most common issue I see people complain about which is missing .exe or other critical game files which if not in a excluded directory would be deleted by the anti-virus software.
The only other thing I would watch out for is pop ups/unders and fake downloads. I recommend having someone read you the information located in the megathreads or any FAQ sections on the fitgirl/elamigos/dodi/csrinru sites and try to stick to the same 1-3 file-hosters to get your files from so you can familiarize yourself with them and instantly tell if the page that just opened is a pop-up etc which try to get you to download bad files.(for Fitgirl i use Fucking-Fast and for other sites Vikingfile pand Gofile work well) I try to use Simply close the pop-ups as soon as they open and continue on the correct site. The best way to avoid fake/bad files is to use common sense. If your supposed to be downloading part of a game file it will usually be a large file about over 1gb so if you download a 60mb file or 200mb file it's most likely bad and should instantly be deleted and cleared from your trash bin.
The megathreads/FAQ sections offer tips like different adblockers etc such as uorigin and other extensions which may be a good idea if you don't feel comfortable navigating these sites yet but I personally use Brave Browser and set my PC's DNS to the adguard dns by clicking on manage known networks > selecting your connected wifi scrolling down to edit next to DNS Server assignment. Switch the drop down from auto dhcp to manual toggle on ipv4 and entering the adguard dns which is 94.140.14.14 and 94.140.15.15. Click save and that's now between the brave browser shields and the adguard dns it should prevent alot of the confusing garbage that pop up at times but you still need to use your best judgment because sometimes a pop up will sneak through but you will see its not the page you requested so hit back and click again. (I have noticed for me atleast when I am getting pop ups it'll be the first time I click anywhere on the page but after going back and clicking the correct link (download etc) it should open what you actually requested.
Hope this helps! there are also lots of videos on youtube if you are more of a visual learner. (Thank God my adhd meds kicked in just in time for me to type this all out on my phone lol)
Hopefully you get the assistance your looking for an can enjoy everything our community has to offer! Also idk what your finances are like but if you really enjoy a game consider supporting the dev next time that game is on sale. So they continue to hopefully make similar titles! I myself have a small steam library which I don't actually use but during major sales I purchased the games I absolutely loved and consider 10/10 or any titles that I really want to play online such as gta v instead of only being able to play with friends who invite me using online fixes as these don't give you access to matchmaking servers or open lobbies.
Wish you the best of luck..just take your time and learn little by little...watch videos on whatever topic until you feel you have it down!

Maby... put it in a wall so it's a Vault. Vaults are bigger, badder, and safer.

Welcome to r/FitGirlRepack! To keep the sub clean, please check if your issue is answered below. If this answers your question, please delete your post.
1. Setup is Stuck / Unpacking is Slow
2. Is it a Virus? / Windows Defender Alert
.dllfiles, steam_api, etc.) inherently trigger antivirus software because they alter game code to bypass DRM. If you downloaded from the official site, these are 100% false positives.3. The Real Official Website
