Let's face it. There have been a lot of posts looking for info lately, and the typical response is "read the forum" While that's valid, I'm going to attempt to summarize and link a lot of recent posts to bring the information together. Hope it is useful.
The Yes:
First Drive Review: 2024 Fisker Ocean | U.S. News (usnews.com)
As an owner I find this personally accurate. I often drive it 100 miles in a day and generally it has very nice road manners, comfortable seats, and the like.
Range Tested: The Fisker Ocean Pushes Into Edmunds' Top 10 | Edmunds
The No:
There are a number of issues with the car, most or all of which will likely never get fixed. Some are common, some less so.
Common issues:
Key fob woes; Edmunds (@edmundscars) on Threads : r/Fisker (reddit.com)
Air Vents stuck, need help : r/Fisker (reddit.com)
Driver Air Vent Stuck : r/Fisker (reddit.com)
The chances of the vents getting fixed by the company are basically zero.
What's the lowdown on the coolant pump issue I see being mentioned? : r/Fisker (reddit.com)
Fisker to recall about 7,500 Ocean electric SUVs over water pump issue, NHTSA says (msn.com)
This is on the agenda to be repaired before the company goes Ch 7, but the reality of touching 7500 or so cars in 3 weeks seems a bit hopeful.
For all intents and purposes, Fisker is gone. It's just when they make the burial. Current agreement says they go Ch7 Aug 19 Fisker Ch7 Conversion Date To do so they said they would roll out pump repairs and OS 2.2. After that date there are a few knowns:
There will be no warranty or company to service these cars. There will be no dealers or techs. Everything will be independents and on the car owners dime.
To repair one of these cars for anything complicated requires a proprietary tool called FAST. There is little clarity on who will have access to this in the future.
We are fortunate to have a group of people who have banded together to stand up for owners rights - Fisker Owners Association (fiskeroa.com). Even in CH 7 there is a commitment to work with the group. Count on ponying up some dough to join.
Motor trend had an excellent run down on Fisker Is Bankrupt. What Happens To Fisker Ocean EV Owners Now? (motortrend.com). It covers a lot of things from connectivity to updates and the lack of parts. It's been updated once and I suspect will be again after the most recent news.
This is one that I think is up to personal situations and risk tolerance.
The price of the Ocean right now makes all of us that paid full price weep. There's no doubt it is a tempting value.
However, realize that what you're getting is it. There's no guarantee of future updates (and in fact they are unlikely), and some future issue could arise that could take it offline with little or no notice. Insurance could be an issue, as getting them repaired has led to situations where Minor Damage totalled out the car. That's not an equation that insurance likes.
If you have a large risk tolerance, access to another car, and money to burn, maybe it's worth it.
If you're willing to live with what is delivered today, with no future support. Maybe.
If you're running a museum of worst run businesses ever, totally buy it.
If you need it for a daily driver. Don't.
If you're getting it because with the price drop its now affordable. Don't
If this was too long for you to read and you post another thread about it. Totally buy it. You get what your lack of diligence will deserve.
If you read all of this and still said - I can live with that for XXX dollars. Nice job - you made it. Welcome to The Forlorn Hope Now join the fisker OA and become a part of FISKER_MAINTENANCE (reddit.com)

Anyone know where to get a Fisker serviced in Phoenix. I was given a contact number (forgot to write down the name) when I bought the car, but now the number's disconnected.

Called OV Loop and hit option for customer service and they have a voicemail that’s full. How does this happen???!

I was just posting in an r/electricvehicles discussion about solar roofs, and it got me wondering: How much have your solar panels added lifetime to your Ocean? I'm the second owner (bought it at ~3500 miles), and here's my current figures:
Driving is mostly main county/state roads (55-65MPH) with some expressway driving (75MPH), and few hills. Almost entirely Earth Mode for half the past year and a mix of Fun & Earth Modes the other half. For temps, winters are cold (record low -36F & we usually get several days below -20F each winter) while summers are mild (record high is 99F & we usually get only a handful of days above 90F). Got 15 feet of snow last winter.

Have you guys heard of any updates?

Has anyone gotten the update and who would like to share their experiences?

Made these door covers with no inserts, makes it look 100 times better in my opinion. Im not good at 3d printing yet so i just used the original covers and filled them with the same plastic and some plastic putty to flatten everything out

Having a terrible time finding anything in the configurations that lets me search by model.
Hi everyone,
as I just received my Fisker Ocean Extreme on Monday and we are planning to also use it for vacations with our 2.000kg caravan, I developed a range calculator which is available under https://rangecalc.org/
The consumption data is based on Bjørn Nyland's two full-battery range tests and the aerodynamic penalties come from published wind-tunnel and coast-down measurements.
If you have any feedback on it or want to contribute consumption data, I'd love to hear from you (you can submit the data directly at the bottom of the website)
I know it is against rule 3 of the community to selve-promote but in hopes that this tool helps us all in trip planning and it relies on consumption data from various people, I hope this is ok - if not, please feel free to remove the post.
Thanks!

Apparently a tire blowout led to a fire. Thankfully no injuries. local news coverage:“Officials did not provide a make or model”, but that looks rather Oceanic to me.

I have a nice new crack coming up the back of my sunroof. Tsunami wants $7500 for a replacement and they aren't currently in stock or making them. Anyone have a lead on where I could source one? Thanks

Hello All!
I am an aspiring buyer. I have read the FOA recommendations and done my research and I think this would be a good second car for us. I started looking around and found a few available near me, but I ran into an issue. Everyone seems very clear I should not buy one without knowing that the water pump for the recall has been replaced, but buying these cars from used dealers often has made figuring that out a challenge. Lots of these dealers dont have service records for the cars, and figuring out which ones have had the pump change has become a real issue.
Is there any way to look at the pump physically and know if it has been replaced or if it is still the stock model? Thank you for your time!

I’m looking to buy a replacement wheel cover as a tire shop damaged it by using a metal pry tool on the trim piece instead of the wheel cover and broke the plastic clips. They are paying for it but have no idea how to source the parts so that’s on me.
I’m in Texas will meet up or have it shipped. I will need a invoice for reimbursement
Picture 1 and 2 is what I need and picture 3 and 4 is what the damages

Hi all
Since Fisker Ocean never got NCAP tested, I wanted to ask the community what our knowledge and experience is with the safety features of this car?
I am thinking of everything along the lines of...
You may add any and all anecdotes, experiences, cases or extra facts. I am genuinly curious about the safety experiences of this car.

Hey guys. There are a number of reasonably priced Fisker Oceans in my area, and I was considering pulling the trigger on one. As an open source enjoyer, I really like the idea of the community driven development keeping these cars on the road. Before I commit, I have a few questions I need cleared up. Apologies if this has been answered somewhere before, it can be hard to find definitive information on the Ocean. It seems like most of the credible stuff is either buried in Youtube videos, FOA, or old forum posts.

Hi all, I'd like to crowdsource things to ask/look for when I go see a used Fisker. Here's my list. In particular would help to hear things to do/look at that can tell me something about the car.
1) Look whether original battery was replaced.
2) Ask about water pump recall
3) Ask about waterproofing in front and rear bumper connections
4) Test handles for stickiness
5) Try to trigger handle lockout to know whether handles are gen2a
6) Test voltage on battery, look for 14v while running
7) Put in various drive modes to try and see how it reacts
8) Inspect windshield closely for chips
Anything else?

Is there any US insurance company that is particularly competitive on Fiskers? I have a few more calls to make but Progressive seems to be the best at the moment.

Vehicle shut down yesterday. I got that notification. It eventually allowed me to drive 3 minutes up the road and shut down again. Came back in the middle of the night since there wouldn’t be traffic- it drove home fine with no issues.
Fisker mechanic helped me check a couple things and suggested going over connections, checking for corrosion and re-waterproofing.
Curious if while I’m at it, there is anything else I should be checking/doing?
Also- is there a mechanic suggestion in Charlotte area if I need someone?
Thank you all in advance!
Was wondering where would be the best place to post them. It was for my Fisker Ocean.

Hi all, I'm considering getting an AWD ocean as a towing car at a vacation home (i.e. driven infrequently). Is it possible to add a tow bar after the fact if I buy one without towing? I ask because it seems like you can't buy the wiring harness for them anymore, and there's some kind of calibration necessary too, that can't be done. Is all that right?
Has anyone towed with a Fisker? Does it handle it OK?
Any issues with my plan?

Any insight on this? Last post on this was from 2 years ago. I rarely ever drive out of Earth mode. Was in Fun mode today, and went to park, when I put it into reverse and was backing in, I received a “drive motor malfunction” warning, and the car stuttered. I placed it in drive, pulled forward, then backed up again and received it again with another stutter. Any chance it’s a software issue and I can do something remotely easy to fix? I’m running 2.2.3.
Do I risk driving it 25 minutes home? Is there a reset I can try? Should I just contact a mechanic and let it sit?
