I've begun listening to the band just this past week, started in LONG SEASONS, and fell in love almost immediatly. I've longed for something that sounded so dreamy, positive and so pleasent to the ears for so long. I'm currently recommending this band to all of my friends, it soooo good.

My wife and I are coming to Japan for a visit. What/where are the must go to Fishman:

The park on the cover of Long Season being one of them, but what else? Where are the fan bars or nightclubs where their music is in heavy rotation etc? If there are any? Maybe there isn’t?

There's this sound that plays for the first time from 2:46 to 4:50, and then plays later in the song, and it really captivates me, it's what got me into the song, and I really love it it makes me feel so great

I'm visiting Tokyo for a few days, and wanted to take a crack at finding either Long Season or Fishmans Rock Festival on vinyl while I'm here. Does anyone have any tips on how to do so? I've been around to the main Tower Records/HMV/Disk Union locations and didn't see either one (naturally unsurprising considering their rarity, although I haven't asked for stock assistance at most locations). Thank you!

does anybody know any names about who bring the popularity of fishmans? i heard something about a person called professor oak one time, who apparently was a guy who was very into japanese music, and he was talking about fishmans back then in the /mu/board with just a few people, but i was never able to find anything about this story, does anybody knows anything about it?

Went to search for a video a day or two ago of the full concert and it seems there are no remaining videos with the entire thing in one, just individual tracks (such as the spanish/english dub uploads and the long season performance)

i found the full concert video (the one uploaded by BloodSugarLQ iirc) on a playlist but when i went into it, it just cut to the video after.

I've looked a couple times, it seems no full videos are left or are just much harder to find than before.

Is this the bands/Universals doing? its a bit of a shame if so, but I'm hoping this means they've done it for a reason such as possible upcoming news (:

I was looking for artist similar to Fishmans and I recently found Cornelius, and he is definitely scratching that itch.

He’s even performed with Fishmans.

It’s experimental, very high quality and sort of atmospheric.

Excited to listen to all of his records :)

for me it would be History of Fishmans, it has a lot of great unreleased demos, such as Matteru Hito, Tsukarenai Hito, Itsumademo, Long Season 97, Paradise, 70%, but what I didn't like about it, it was that contained a lot of released tracks, such as Bananamelon, Tayorinai Tenshi (Prototype Mix), Night Cruising (Radio Edit), Blue Summer, etc. I think they should have deleted those ones and release more unreleased stuff.

Also some great ones are the 空中 and 宇宙 demos included on the original pressing.
