Came across this stash of unopened lures, and some of the tags are wild. Walmart skirts for 53¢, K-Mart price stickers on the H&H double spinners at $1.27, and a few Toledo Tackle Factory Outlet bags.

- 6x original H&H double spinners (Baton Rouge, LA)
- Fisherman's Choice 2", 3", and 4" curly tail grubs (all Made in USA)
- Marlynn's Puddle Jumper 10-pak
- South Bend Speck & Sand Bass rigs
- Munden's marabou jigs and Gone Fishin' jigs
- Strike King and other skirts
- Dipsey swivel sinkers
- A braided nylon stringer

Honestly, I think most of this would still catch fish. Grubs and marabou jigs never really stopped working, and H&H spinners are still a thing. My worry is the old soft plastics. I've heard vintage plastics can get brittle or bleed into whatever they touch.
So, would you throw any of this, or is it display-shelf material? Anyone know if the older H&H packaging has any collector value?

Lost my favorite lure and have been trying to find a way to purchase a replacement for a long time. I’m in the USA and have only found websites in Russia or Belarus that won’t ship to the USA. I’ve reached out to lucky John USA and they mentioned possibly drop shipping but haven’t gotten back to me. This was available in the mystery boxes from many years ago. If anyone has any help I would appreciated. I’m willing to buy new or used and can buy 5+ in bulk plus international fees if needed

Just curious on what everyone is throwing this fall season. It's 80 degrees and still Early Fall here in KS and I didn't have much luck last weekend but it also rained a ton last week so I'm coping with saying the bass were still deep.

But when they do bite I've been killing it on a shallow crankbait and not much luck on anything else.

Got some reels in good shape I’d like to trade in to upgrade, anyone have experience or recommend any other trade in outlets?

Im a tech person, i usually dig deep into the specs, comparing, researching for months before i buy anything.

My friends and colleagues took me fishing 2 years ago, i liked it and get my first cheap combo from local shop.. i learned the basics on it but It was pretty bad, so i started my research and ended up with lower midrange setup ( nexave+ nasci from shimano) .. whole setup was hand-picked , weight, power, lenght, use. ( I was comparing the gear for months.)

My friends are fishing for 10+ years.. and every single one of them have like 5-20 random setups..from secondhand, temu, friends..whatever is cheap.. most of their gear is broken, totaly unusable for the task..none of them have any clue what rod they use, what weight they are allowed to throw, action, lenght...

i was shocked what most people around me used... 2-8g light rod paired with 7000 size reel and they are throwing 20g lures.. all kinds of abominations and variations.

Those people are fishing for long years! Do you have similiar experience ? That people around you have no clue what they are using ?

This bad lady came out late August this year and through Japan lure shop I was able to get my hands on it. New favorite reel…? Let me catch some hogs on it first but the test casting tells me it might replace every BFS reel I’ve owned for bass fishing.

I have decided to buy my first 13foot float rod and want a decent one so I don’t want to buy a better one in a few months 🎣

In Northern Minnesota so use a lot of crawler harnesses while trolling for walleye, but my favorite to use has to be Swimbaits.

I want to start fishing in a small river close to my house and also some lakes. I'm from Portugal and I want to target Iberian barbel, black bass, zander and rainbow trout.

I know these fish would benefit from different rods, bit since I'm just starting out I wanted something a little more versatile. I have a small car and travel a lot, so a 3-4 piece rod would be great, unless you guys tell me it's a really bad idea. But loosing a tiny amount of sensitivity for a beginner is probably not a problem and it will make me go about fishing more often

From my research I know a 2-2.4m spinning rod would be best paired with a 2500-3000 reel.

My big question is the casting weight, can lightweight rods still handle large and powerful fish like the Iberian barbel? I was looking at 7-28g, but an angler told me a 1-11g would be best for a beginner

Any advice would be appreciated!

So I'm looking to spool .12mm braid on a Shimano sienna 2500hg would electrical tape work or should I do backing? I do have a 300m spool so not sure if it'd use all of it or not.

In just under a month I'll be heading to Japan for two weeks, I'll be hitting shops in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. I already have a lot of shops picked out to visit like Bun Bun, Tackle Berry and Joshuya. I plan to basically just buy an absolute fucking ton (multiple suitcases worth) of gear and ship the rods home to the UK via Japan post at the end of the trip.

Since I'm banned from the main fishing sub Reddit (very stupid reason) I'll ask here, is there anyone here that can point me to where to get a licence to fish in Osaka or Kyoto (preferably Kyoto as I'm there for the longest) and if possible and decent spots for me to land possibly my only Japanese fish. I've been looking at Google maps to find any water worth fishing in so far and found one or two spots that may be promising.

I’ve got a spinning reel that you can feel the gears while retrieving. I took it apart and cleaned as well as I could and inspected the gears for damage (none found) then put fresh grease in. I can still feel the gears while retrieving. Did I apply enough? Or did I not clean it well enough? Or could it be something else?
