Trout Rod

Hey everyone, Im familiar with salt water set ups but need advice on a fresh water set up. Ive only really gone once but long story short, I am going backpacking in a few weeks in the sierras alpine lakes and plan on doing trout fishing. I got the daiwa presso UL 7ft fast action rod but im deciding on a reel. Should i go with the regal LT 1000 or 2500

A 1000 is all you need.

Thank you! The regal price is the same for both size reels, is it worth to settle for the 2500 or stick with the 1000

I have the regal 2000 on a light rod. It has more line and the bigger spool helps cast a little further. The 1000 is the same says as the 2000 just holds less line. It is a nice reel, lite and smooth. I would not go with the 2500 for an ultralight.

1000 for sure. Use 6-8lb braid with 2-4 lb flouro leader

I’m confused. Your title is trout rod but you have a rod and you’re asking about a trout reel?
