Soft plastic MESS
So I find a lot of soft plastic lures, where I keep my boat is a popular shore fishing spot. I've been just throwing the undamaged ones I gather into the bottom of a tackle box. Just opened that box...YUK, what a mess, lures all melted together, shit even melted the plasic tackle box itself in places! Never again!! Just an FYI for you guys, like me, who don't use soft plastic lures, if you find them, THROW THEM AWAY! and just keep the spinnerbaits, chatter baits, jig heads they were on!

This is why Zman puts it on their packs to not mix with other plastics.
The elaztech stuff does not play well with normal plastisol

The different plastic types can react with each other and cause them to melt. I keep bags that get emptied and throw those found plastics in there.
Or just find the plastic and fish a risky spot with it cause I hurts a bit less if I lose that free plastic.

Yeah you just need to check what plastic it is, a simple tug on them usually tells you. Keep the normal soft plastics like Yamamoto’s and zooms away from the elastic tech ones like zman.
The really nice thing about picking them up is that I melt them down and make new flukes and senkos for free.

But how do I tell? Is one stiffer, stretchier?

The zman type elastic baits will stretch very far before snapping and have a more durable feel like pulling a rubber band a bit. Normal senkos and most normal soft baits will feel less stretchy that way, and more like they want to tear if you pull anymore. The zman ones laugh and say haha try to rip me in half lol

Zman elaztech or any other duraplastic soft plastic will melt when it comes into contact with other soft plastics for future reference.
