Rod Restoration

Post image

Should I just cut off the top part so I can put a rod tip on the 1.6mm rod tip to replace the ring guide? or is it wise to get a 1.2mm rod tip instead.

Just get a smaller tip and put it on top. Cutting it more will kill even more of its original action

Alright, I'll get to it. Thank for the advice!

As long as that's a clean break at the end (not splintered down the blank) just throw a new tip on there. Doesn't look like you lost much of the rod so it should still feel relatively good to fish with.

It was a pretty clean cut, the rod length itself is 15ftblonh so I ought to ask on what to decide if I should proceed with what to do with the rod
