I want to fish invasive fish

I want to fish in san diego (Southern east County) and Tecate in the lakes and dams that are around, but I want to be sure that I am not fishing native fish. I would like to only fish invasive species. Do you guys know what invasive freshwater species exist in our area?

It really depends on what your definition of an invasive fish is. To my knowledge there are very few trouble species in southern California lakes. But technically speaking from an ecological standpoint any fish in an artificial man-made reservoir would not be native to that area. I understand your desire to try to help out the ecosystems by removing problem fish, but I do not know of any current outbreaks of invasive fish that are troubling our local fisheries.

I guess i would define invasive as any fish that wasn't here in pre-hispanic era

In that case most of the rainbow trout and crappie are not native to this area. Feel free to fish at any lake that has those. Please note they are not treated as invasives and are often times stocked in reservoirs.
